It’s 4.15am and my bowels are working overtime unfortunately. Ah the joys of recovering from an ileostomy reversal! Lol

I hope all is well and wish you a speedy recovery. Im going to bed as im a night shifter. 6.35am over here.

So what did you end up cutting the screen with?
Tin snips , the wire is tough as it’s made of stainless steel. It won’t cut well on curves so you will have to cut a little like a bit map if you you know what I mean. See below

Thanks! I found some aluminun security mesh at local home depot so perhaps that would cut easier. Ill be stopping in to see what they have to offer.

Been thinking of this ever since the Stinger Experience when i noticed a Shelby in the parking lot that had similar screen over its brake vents. Figured id have to remove wheel liner to do so. May end up dong that anyway to make it easier install.

Looks amazing by the way!!

You will get frustrated trying to insert it as i did. There is a small lip inside the vent opening that the wire has to sit into so the lining can overplap the mesh and vent. If you don’t overlap, the water will get in behind the lining. So it’s a fairly finicky job to cut the mess exactly to size. The template I supplied will get you close but you will have to tweak your cuts a bit. I did not do a template of the actual mesh cut cause once it was in I wasn’t going to get it out for that! Templates should save you all a lot of time. In addition to tin snips I used some fine pointed wire cutters like the ones below, they help with doing the ‘bitmap’ cuts I mentioned before.
Feel free to ask more questions if you get stuck.:D

Removing wheel lining may be easier but you will most likely have to glue it in place until you get the mesh in and lining back on. Maybe just do it without the wheel and leave lining in place.

Yep, i "felt" around under the lining last night and do see what lip you are talking about. I am NOT about to try and "massage" this screen through the vent. I will remove the liner, cut it to fit exact and then temp secure it with some putty or whatever until get the liner back over it.

If i tried to do this with the liner on, i would no doubt mangle the liner and just get pissed in the process :)

When i get around to it, I will try to take photos of that portion to add here as well. Currently working on wrapping the stinger haus hood vents so this one is a few down the project list!

Haha you have to keep your confidence. It did not take much wiggling to get it in and no damage. Be careful with the putty! Good luck.
