BMS TCU!

Will be getting this BMS TCU tune over the next few days!! Cant wait.

BTW Does anyone have any guide/walkthrough for batching/loading/writing TCU tunes on the Stinger? Every guide Ive found only talks about the ECU flash process.. but Ive read that works a bit differently than flashing TCU tune? Is that true or false?
It’s actually exactly the same.

@Terry@BMS are the flashes reversible to stock without leaving signs of the tune (like VW's TD1 flag)? How about just the TCU flash? Not clear whether that one still involves writing to the ECU or just the TCU.

Edit: saw your other posts where flashing permanently flags it, along with ECU swapping. So I guess I'm curious if TCU-only flash is the same scenario, or fully reversible

Feedback on the BMS TCU has been really good! We've optimized shift points, increased line pressure, reduced shift time, and set the car up for full time brake boosting without the need of adding a brake boost switch. All this while keeping overall operation smooth and seamless just like factory.

Our TCU is compatible with the JB4 tuning, flash only tunes, stock tuning, or anything in between!

It's loaded via the SXTH EK1 (which we also stock if needed), and the BMS TCU map is currently $75. A whole lot of work goes in to each file so we plan to raise the price in a few weeks to $150 so we can actually earn some profit on it. Considering some tuners still charge $1000+ for their TCU flashes it's going to be a steal no matter what price you get it at! But who doesn't like to save a few bucks? Get while the getting is good and if your calibration isn't posted yet just email me terry@burgertuning.com and I'll work on it!
Apologies if this has been answered before, but does the TCU eliminate the harsh lower gear downshifts?

Seems it’s different for many people. It did for me. I had very harsh downshifting in all modes previously. 3-1. I know longer have that in comfort mode.

I just got the Lozic TCU and it was a pretty penny, in love with it tho but damn I hate knowing the BMS Flash TCU came out! I have the JB4, just bought the BMS CPI with FMIC and BEF to go with the JB4 the other day and waiting for it to arrive! At some point I’m ganna need to consider putting my OEM TCU back in and flashing it with BMS!

Benefits of BMS TCU over Lozic TCU?

I’m getting close to pulling the trigger on the BMS TCU and selling my Lozic TCU.

Has anyone switched from Lozic TCU to BMS TCU?

Brake boosting different? Brake snip? Pressure while shifting?

I have one big issue with my Lozic TCU, I’ve loved it from day 1, but the shifting pattern is hurting my times (-5%). Any benefit from BMS TCU for this?

Or should I just stick with Lozic?

-5% shifting is good when running piggyback (jb4) do you have a ecu flash tune?

Just installed my BMS TCU tune and its awesome.

How’s the brake boosting, shift points, and power shifts? You get a good launch from a dig?

Im RWD, I tried brake boosting just to see if it works and it does. I really did BMS TCU for the shift points and power shifts, at first the shift points felt weird because im use to the car revving out more, but after a few times you appreciate it because the car does stay in the power band.

Terry, If their is one option I would ask for is if we can have a true manual mode, were the car would not auto shift. I track the car and you want to stay in gear sometimes, even if it bounces of the limiter, and if you upshift early at WOT the car doesn't automatically down shift again.

I recently installed the BMS TCU tune myself, and highly recommend it. Gear shifts are firm, downshifts are smooth and not jerky at all. Car feels more sporty now which is great. Also, unlike the lozic tcu tune I have driven in, comfort mode is basically unaffected so you can enjoy easy driving when that's what you want. Love that!

Off the shelf the shift points are optimized for running a piggyback like jb4 where the boost levels tapers off in the higher rpms, specifically in the first 1-3 gear changes. For the higher gears for 60-130 mph runs its not as prominent. Anyways if you are running a flash ecu tun you might want to ask Terry to adjust this for you.

As for the BMS tcu tune launch control, it's decent (way better than the oem LC obviously as you now can actually build boost holding brake) however if you are not careful there is a good chance the safety nannies in the transmission (which this tune does NOT fully disable) will kick in and spoil the fun, cutting off power to avoid transmission damage, resulting in a mediocre launch. It's a bit tricky and takes practice to get right and launch consistently.

Just like most other tcu tunes It doesn't hold a candle to the brake snip mod for launches from a dig that's for sure.

Did you use 3rd gear boost reduction and if so were you able to launch without wheel spin? At what RPM did you let it fly?

Is there an information write-up on this TCU tune anywhere? I swear if there is and I missed it sorry I tried. Stuff like shift points, LC RPM, changes between sport and comfort?
Just got ek1 to ECU bef when I saw the TCU tunes.
Also I see on sxth tuning files page the TCU tune is named BMS alpha? Is that correct

So at what rpm's does it shift now ?

We have our BEF and TCU maps posted to sxth site so you purchase them there to load via the EK1. The main factor on what BEF you get is what fuel you use, E85 mixture or only pump gas. For the TCU we've made it pretty universal. In both cases we can do customizations for a small fee if there are unique circumstances that dictate it like larger turbos, subpar fuel, etc.
Which tcu tune shift early ? and at what rpm's does it shift ?

No I didnt mess with that, and I don't think I will, because I hardly launch the car and I mainly got the TCU for the improved & earlier shifts.

So at what rpm's does it shift now ?

5,900rpm

Again. No love for the 2.5T

:o(
