Been texting a dealer for months, finally got a new 2019 GT2 price down to $38,985

Used 2016 and 2017 GS Fs can be had with less than 20k mi for Gt1 money
That's a good point. I believe those model years don't have all the latest tech like HUD and Adaptive cruise, but the performance is all there. Something to consider.

Any canadians like me feel like we got the better end of the stick with the stinger? Canada gt limited = us gt2 and msrp is 51k cad$ / 36500 usd and no deal on that price
I seriously don't understand why Kia is short-changing US buyers AND charging more. In the launch year, they didn't offer surround-view monitor (I know they added that in 2019), and they STILL don't provide remote start via the Uvo app. What gives?

I came from a Lexus ISF (not F-sport) to the Stinger and I considered all of the Lexus lineup prior to purchase of the Stinger. The GSFs were out of my price range, the RCFs were coupes and I wanted a sedan (however I still love the Lexus V-8), and a newer ISF was just more of the same. I NEVER considered an F-sport of anything because of the lack of engine power. If even the tiniest part of you wants to go fast one day a year, then get the Stinger. I have no regrets. If you are leaning towards the Lexus, I can tell you that a company called RR Racing makes a very impressive supercharger package for the 350 that will put you at respectable power levels.
I thought the IS-F was not available any more? If that supercharger gets the GS350 near 400 hp, that could be pretty decent. I don't know what it is though, but I just can't seem to get excited over any Lexus right now. Not sure if I'm just OCD'ing over the Stinger or what. I can tell you that I was OCD'ing over the G70 until my kids got in the back seat and complained about how uncomfortable it was, especially the seat behind the driver (I'm 6-ft, 1-in). Love the Stinger because it felt/drove similarly to the G70, and was perfectly comfortable for my kids.

2018 canada offered gt and gt limited (gt1&2) maybe they got a better deal for bundle deal to sell more high-end cars.. the price difference was about 5000 usd$ and it included hud, rear seat heater, better sound system, bigger NAV display, nappa leather.. a few months after i got the limited they reduced the GT (gt1 version) another 2000 usd$.. this year the unlimited is 1700 usd$ cheaper.. so even tho i got a better deal then the US im on the downside of canada buyers

The ISF I had was a 2010 and I considered a low mileage 2014 ISF (last model year) when purchasing the Stinger. The GS350 supercharger gets you 410whp for stage II and 436whp and 375wtq for stage III. The downside is that the Stage III kit is about $7500, plus installation. Stage II is about a $1000 less. Considering all of that, it should be clear from my signature what I chose. The Stinger is a great car is almost every respect. I do not miss the ISF (except the sound).

I'll say this, the Stinger has a more unique look than the Lexus which will have a lot of people wondering about it. The ride and handling is certainly European and the power plant is the icing on the cake in this package. The car is comfortable and a lot of fun to drive. Be careful though, if you keep your foot in it, you'll be in extra legal speeds long before you realize it. The majority of people that doubted this car and drove it, got one unless they were serious badge snobs and care more about how others view them.

Get what you love and enjoy. Based on the deals that started this thread, if you haven't got one yet, what are you waiting for? The month ends ina couple of days.

The deal is still on the table. I’m still torn between the GS and Stinger. If the Stinger has these discounts now, I’m curious what they’ll do when the 2020’s start hitting the lots. The 16 and 17 GS350’s are coming off lease around that same time.

I live in Dallas and was thinking of driving to Ferguson Kia when I saw the prices. Is this a lease price? What incentives are included in the price quote they gave you? I went to a Kia dealer in Dallas yesterday and was initially quoted a price of $46,xxx.

The GS was pretty high on my list before the Stinger came out. Once I saw the initial specs on the Stinger I dropped the GS.

The price may go a little lower when the 2020s come out, or they just might find someone else to bite at that price, who knows. One thing to ask about on the financing is if they have any issues with you paying it off the first month. My dealer asked me to not pay it off before 90 days or else they'd lose their incentive from Kia. So I just divided what I owed by three and paid it off in three equal chunks over three months, it didn't cost me too much more in interest.

I am trying to stick to my original plans financially. My goal was to keep driving my 2007 TL-S until the new year, but these prices are enticing me like crazy. But, I have always prided myself on being fiscally diligent, so... Right now, I'm thinking I'll grab a 2020 when they come out in Sep/Oct (compromise!)

I just re-read your original post, and am floored by the deal actually. My goal was to grab a 2020 GT2 for $45K OTD. I think with VA taxes and all the other fees, that should put the car around $43K. You posted $41K for a 2019 GT2 out-the-door, which is like $4k below the best deals I have seen. Even if you lose $1k in interest in that few months, you're well ahead of the game. Good work.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I'm looking for an AWD GT2. If you're talking about a RWD GT2, I guess it's not as great as I thought it was, but it's still an amazing deal!

Dealer sent me pics of it. The minimum amount they require me to finance is $7500. I can pay that in a lump sum, no 3 payment minimum. It’s a purchase, no lease or balloon. They have the taxes included on my buyer’s order...but if I’m buying it in Oklahoma, will Texas tax me again when I register it??

They should tax you based on where you live and will register the car or not at all, in which case you would have to pay the taxes when you register the car in your home state.

When I got my 2018 last year, I got it for $41+ out the door, getting that price now probably means they want to get the inventory down before the next batch comes out so as not to be stuck with a lot of them later in the new model year.

So I could wait it out. My GS350 is pristine and still has the factory warranty. So I’m not needing to buy, but I’m a consumer who is intrigued by the new stuff out there. He said if I leave the taxes on the buyer’s order, they’d send me a check in the mail when the title info is uploaded. I’d just turn that check over to the state when I register it. He said they could also remove it, and I pay when I register...either way it’d be the same. Now I got the Lexus folks hitting me up for the CPO coming off lease.

Do they realize you live in Texas?

They do. That’s when he said they would cut a check for the taxes or I could remove it from the buyer’s order and pay when I register. Does anyone know if Texas would make me pay taxes on the whole price of $40,000 or just the trade difference?

Just the trade difference
I agree, it should just be that.

I ended up about $40 short according to the county though when I went to collect my plates. Somehow in all the different incentives and this and that they disagreed with what the dealer calculated and wanted a little extra. Whatever, I didn't think I'd get far arguing with them. It took forever as it was just to get my plates.

Go to the Texas Comptrollers website. It says, "Sales: 6.25 percent of sales price, minus any trade-in allowance. The taxable value of private-party purchases of used motor vehicles may be based on the standard presumptive value.

I am from Texas too, so Ferguson Kia popped up in my searches too. I have never personally bought a car in Oklahoma and registered in Texas. I would assume they would give you a Oklahoma temporary tag, enough to drive back to Texas. Then you would need to get it inspected, then get it registered. I would assume they would not charge you taxes and you would just pay them in Texas.

I lived in Kansas and bought a car in Edmond OK. I didn't pay taxes until I registered in Kansas. Same deal for Texas
