• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Australia-Specific Kia Stinger Discussion

I bought a red one online anyway but it was smaller than the 1:18 scale. Only cost me about $30. It's about time Hot Wheels came out with one though.
Glad it was Micro Blue because you can't get that colour except now with Hot wheels

1500rpm at cold start is normal.
Don't quote me on this, but I think its so that the cats heat up quickly to meet emission standards. My Subaru was the same, maybe even higher RPM.

Lordy, it's taken practically nearly all day to fully detail Sonic.
Washed, vacuumed inside including boot, swapped to the rubber winter mats, metal polish on the exhaust tips,...

Flame, do you have any tips for not getting metal polish on the gloss black plastic trim that surrounds the exhaust tips? I tried using masking tape on the black plastic but still managed to get polish on it.

Have they deleted that colour in Australia then?
No, I just meant on model cars, you can get white, red, black and Pantera metal but no Micro Blues

I used a small microfibre cloth and only put a small spot on, rubbed it into the tips and buffed them with a clean part of the cloth and they came up good and didn't get any on the gloss black trim.

White! I want a white one. I went to Westfield Parramatta (very large complex in Western Sydney), Myer, Target, BigW but not a Stinger in sight. Very time consuming to sort through all the stock. Went to another BigW and grabbed 3 blues @ $2ea :)

You're not wrong about sorting through the hundreds of models they have. I feel a bit weird too being an older man hanging around the toy section. I could always say I'm looking for my son. Still haven't snagged a hot wheels Stinger though. :cautious:

@Shannon C, you can always message Av8r he has gone " entrepreneurial " he is planning on spraying them different colours. Maybe you can bag yourself a white one but don't be surprised if he asks for $50 of your hard earned :rofl:

Thanks Flame but I'm sure I will find one eventually. No biggie.
That's okay, you can always turn to our WA buddy, you might get it cheaper than $50 because you live in the same hemisphere

Thank you Oztung.
Kia Aust vaguely advise that the speed on the heads up or map will flash to alert when you exceed the posted limit. I guess that I need to be more aware. Can you advise if your Stinger revs at 1500rpm on cold start? Owning a 1967 fairlane with 351W, I would not dream of revving it like that when cold. Did you use the overlays when rebadging,if so, are you happy with the outcome?

Micro Blue. 2019 build .Bimodal. Paint protection.
The speed symbol changes colour both in heads up and screen nav to a darker red when over limit ok

I want one, where did you get it :)
They were in Kmart, some in Target and BigW but like the real versions seem to be scarce, If you can't find one pm me ( I found two in Target ) I'm trying to help people that can't find any where they live.

Yes, Just got my new Stinger GT.
I am in WA and there are always new developments going up all the time which necessitates new roads so I am looking at the specs of the car and came across the following which indicates that the 10years Mapcare is free and comes with the purchase. How do we get the updates I am wondering?.

Satellite navigation multimedia system with 10 years traffic information (SUNA™) & 10 years MapCare

Congrats on your new Stinger, welcome to the Hive :)
As far as I'm aware, when you take it in for a service you can ask for the map updates, but I guess you could ring and pop in for it anytime. Iv'e got to get mine updated at the next service ( hasn't been done yet, got the car last year )
