• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Australia-Specific Kia Stinger Discussion

First time this arvo, a kick start your Heart Stinger moment. Going down the Highway in the rain, albeit light rain but having rained most of the day the road was wet. I apparently put my foot down a little hard on the accelerator and had a " fish tail " experience for a few seconds, Yikes !

Lesson 1 bewarned of Mod infliction syndrome, laugh you may its very contagious especially if you stray into infected threads in here.

Lesson 2 re-badge or not to re-badge that is the question. The jury is 82% for 18% against - check the pole.

Lesson 3. Whilst inside these confines try to appease the local Wizard, get on the wrong side of @MerlintheMad and its death by a million words.

Lesson 4 take off traction control off at your own risk.

Lesson 5 in here you can't download or post links until your newbie status has been lifted.

Lesson 6 nothing youve passed lifes test with your wise choice. Just add your city in with your avatar so we know how local you are. And tell us your Vehicles colour and trim.

Ps welcome.

I am a new member who purchased a new Stinger with Bi-modal in March. Just had the 3 month checkup and asked how to set the speed alert (voice). I have been advised that the Stinger GT does not have it. Sent an email to Kia Aust and they advised the same as the dealer. Can anybody out there advise if this is correct. The wifes 2017 Sportage has the speed alert.
Dave B

Correct no voice speed alert.

Thank you Oztung.
Kia Aust vaguely advise that the speed on the heads up or map will flash to alert when you exceed the posted limit. I guess that I need to be more aware. Can you advise if your Stinger revs at 1500rpm on cold start? Owning a 1967 fairlane with 351W, I would not dream of revving it like that when cold. Did you use the overlays when rebadging,if so, are you happy with the outcome?

Dave B
Frankston
Micro Blue. 2019 build .Bimodal. Paint protection.

I'm not aware of any alert when speed limit is exceeded. Occasionally I get a warning if approaching a lower limit area and I would be otherwise way over it.
1500rpm at cold start is normal.

Lordy, it's taken practically nearly all day to fully detail Sonic.
Washed, vacuumed inside including boot, swapped to the rubber winter mats, metal polish on the exhaust tips, fully slick on the chrome parts, vinyl care - interior, leather love- all seats, glass cleaner on all windows and " new car " air freshener sprayed inside.......now I need to lie down......

You can still get smaller Stingers on ebay, red ones too but the sellers are overseas so postage likely will be a killer. The big 1:18 scale are hard to come by and now sell over $300 plus.

I bought a red one online anyway but it was smaller than the 1:18 scale. Only cost me about $30. It's about time Hot Wheels came out with one though.
