• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

If you're over the limit approaching a camera you shoukd get an audible warning but there is no warning for over speed in a non camera area.

Particularly the announcement of a camera that was taken out years ago!

Mine was this:
Car with exhaust and gt mats$60,900
Dashcam $1290
Paint and interior protection with tint $2100
Schmick's callout repair for 5 years $999

I just got a quote this morning on a GT with towbar and bi-modal exhaust, $69,xxx, in Sydney.

It's a first pass with the dealer, no negotiation - but that's at least $10k more than others seem to be paying!

yeah that just sounds like RRP , shop around or if you don't want to do the work go with John Cadogans crew.

I will get mats (and have them throw them in), I need the tow bar & hitch, but I think for $2700 I will skip the bi-modal exhaust and get something after-market.

I was going to say no to the paint protection film, but at $400, it doesn't actually seem a bad deal.

Then I start looking at other things (sways, springs, CAIs...)

Does anyone here think it might be a bad time to buy a stinger given Labor's new EV policy of 50% target by 2030? The resale of petrol cars will be hit hard imo. I was 100% set on buying a stinger before 30 June until this announcement from Labor

Short answer is NO. It’s an election policy, and if they win government it’ll be ages before it’s implemented and even then they can’t force you to buy a certain make/model of car. Also why avoid buying a car now for something that may or may not be the case in 11 years time? There’s virtually no infrastructure for EV in the way of charging stations etc and it will take a long time to get it to a level to be able to support 50% of the total number of vehicles on the road across the country. Add to that when they get in and start this, and the muppets from the LNP get re-elected later they will scuttle it or downgrade it significantly just like they stuffed the NBN when they came into power. Don’t stress, buy a Stinger and just enjoy it.

I think enthusiast cars will go up in value as replacements become rarer on the market. :)

Too much, keep bargaining. Tell them you have a limit of 63000 cause the wife said thats it. If you blame someone else they cant argue. Be prepared to walk if they give it to you and you will be surprised how fast they tun after you. Wait til end of month even better.

Stick to your guns like I said. They can do that price i stated and even throw in the mats. If you dont get the towbar try for 60000 driveaway. I hope you realise that if they fit a tow bar they have to cut a piece of your car out. Personally i would not put the towbar on as it adds weight and youre probably better off hiring a ute form Bunnings for the number of times you would use the towbar

Hi, would you mind putting your location in your avatar it helps down the track.

Try putting out a blanket email out to all local dealers and see who gives you the best price.
Success has been had at these two dealers. Peter warren kia warwick farm. And defintetly worth shooting Kia at Maitland they been good to a couple of members.

I tow a boat and a track car (on a trailer) at least twice a month over late spring/summer/early autumn. So I'm not sure that hiring a ute from Bunnings is going to work. :)

I'm not worried about 25-35kgs - particularly at the back when the stock weight distribution is 52:48 front to rear. Cutting the bumper - if they screw it up, they get me a new one. Except for when the car is actually towing, the hitch will be removed.

Sorry, missed that. Done now!

Yeah, I'm starting to reach out to a few, and will see how John Cadogan's group does (though I note they haven't contacted me yet 24 hours after I lodged my query - they do say 24-48 hours, I guess they're busy).

I have to say, the dealerships have been a bit of a mixed bag thus far. I contacted one dealership online, to be told they couldn't give me a price online, but they took my details and were going to have someone contact me today. That didn't happen. I popped into the dealership this afternoon, they were very quiet (no customers), they had no stock other than a single car that's already sold. The guy there did at least seem to know a bit about the car (he knows of the Jonny Tig upgrades, has seen the CAI's fitted, knew about the 4" single exhaust they do). The first dealership was much less knowledgable - the first salesman I spoke to told me there'd been no updates to the car since it was released in 2017, the lady I spoke to on my next visit was nice, knew a bit about the car, but was the one who gave me the $69,xxx quote.

At least today's dealer was closer on price - said RRP is mid-sixties, I can likely get a few more grand off that, and then offered that if they have any 2018 built MY19s available to them, I can probably save a bit more there too.

There's a long way to go yet, but things will start getting interesting at the end of this month... :)

Good luck doing your home work like you're doing will mean you'll get a positive result.
Ryde area, im just down at Macquarie park at work.
