At (Long) Last ...US Official Pricing

Perhaps the US market is different. Dealer incentive and distribution costs could be higher...longer warranty to cover...and the American desire for incentives, promotions, 0% interest, haggling, super bowl marketing, etc etc.

We are a demanding bunch!

All of that may be true. So the typical markup is around 10 to 15%, Canada to the US, to cover it. Not almost 30%, like in the case of the Stinger. If it was "normal" markup, I would STHU.

Yeah and that's on top of the de-contenting. We don't even get the full lux features that are included in the comparable Canadian model.
Like I said though, I'd probably go ahead and let myself get rolled on the price as long as I got offered everything pretty much the same as others (including one of the colors I liked best).
It's these things that are keeping me from getting overwhelmed by the hype of the US reviews the last day or so.

When I first learned of the car, I thought Wow! All this for 50K-ish. Then as information slowly started to trickle out about the US version, I started to think differently. Obvisiously disappointed that they are leaving out some of the features, such as 360 camera view, no heated rear seats, etc. But now, I'm getting back into it after watching many of the reviews with the US version.

I know for the most part, these reviews are scripted by KIA (Here's the topics we would like for you to pay attention when you film review) because EVERYONE has talked about how neat the functional air vents are but the hood vents are faux, etc. But every single reviewer looks to have FUN driving the Stinger and that has what peaked my interested again. Not that I ever stopped considering getting a Stinger, just that I was starting to think, "Well, I don' know...."

But now I'm full bore on getting one, once again. And from one of the reviewers, those cars that they all got to drive were still pre-production vehicles. But I doubt they will change anything this close to release. I think I will be fine with that.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Perfect characterization (except for the spelling ;)).
Whoa, I knew I was distracted when I wrote that! I'll edit. No more multi-tasking for me!

I totally agree. This has been my observation all along, and the thing that has drawn me back to the Stinger every time I've begun to doubt whether it was the car for me.

This is interesting, on here it's got rain sensing wipers as part of the ADAS package.

Good news!

Looks like one more standard feature on the GT2.

Bas news!

I thought the autodimming mirror with compass was standard. There goes the 300 bucks Kia knocked off the first price estimate for the GT2.

Hmm the auto-dimming mirror w/ the compass should be standard on the Premium, GT1, & GT2... at least according to https://www.kiamedia.com/us/en/models/stinger/2018/features#stinger

I would not be a happy camper if they de-contented that!!! I'm still kinda pissed they didn't make any efforts to offer the 360 deg camera, according to the other thread, where JAW_Stinger mentioned it on the Stingers during his sales training.

I hear ya and hope you are correct.

But, that page also says that rain sensing wipers are optional on the GT2 trim even though the ADAS package (which is standard on the GT2) includes it on the pricing doc. It also says the 160mph speedo is optional on the GT2 trim. So I find it a little suspect.

Maybe it is an accessory to upgrade the models that just come with an autodimming mirror only (sans the compass and homelink)? But then I would not expect the "autodimming mirror w/compass" to be listed as "-- not available" on the models that come with autodimming only.

I see that too, and you're right, it is so darn conflicting. This is such a mess, because I'm just getting myself upset every time I look at potential feature offerings from the Stinger. I may need to just walk away and not think about it for a while. I'm not willing to compromise on all the little omissions since I see it on lesser cars, and with the amount of money I'm willing to spend on it. I think what hits it most, is that we are seeing these gimped features that exist in other markets... especially so close above the border, but I digress. So close to walking to the Honda dealer and checking out the Accord 2.0T Touring, even though it's not a hatch and not in the same class. :p

Exactly where I am right now. I was initially thinking I'd be willing to jump through dealer hoops to get one as early as possible, but now I'm thinking I'll just chill for weeks/months, and see how I feel about the car (and Kia) once things settle down. Winter is coming.

No wireless charging? f*ck it im out.

Me too I'm on the same boat lol. I've never been an early adopter and I think for me at least, I would have serious buyer's remorse from where things are going. And besides good things come to those who wait! I think the second year would the wiser decision for those who can wait. I want them to address the manual override situation too, which should be an easy fix, but from what I have seen there doesn't seem to be a 'dedicated' direct manual override mode via the gear selector on the GT2 shift by wire versus the lesser GT models with the shift by cable gear selector with what I am assuming the '+/-' slot from the pictures... I'll dig around the manual to see... Not sure just going to wait if I can...

There are a few things I just completely dont understand:
1) Literally every review has said that the steering feels a little light and there either should be a stiffer steering option or like a Sport+ mode... seems like feedback they could have taken into account by this point.
2) 360 camera - This is at most like a few hundred bucks, I dont understand why you would make a 50k car at this point without an option that is available on 30k cars. Make it an option at least.
3) Wireless charging - Not as big a deal to me, but definitely a convenience as the newer iPhones, etc have the capability to use this. That being said, I almost always use my phone for navigation on a mount so dont really care that much.
4) Is it true that the red leather is not Nappa leather?

To my knowledge the red leather is only available in nappa leather.. if that's not the case then I'll be pretty excited since you're not able to option the nappa leather to the lower trims.

I am going to wait for the cars to actually hit the dealerships and the build function on the website. That is the only true way of knowing what comes with what.

I heard a review mention Brown interior. I might be interested again if I can get a white one with brown interior. I think that would look nice. I'm also gonna wait for the build function to see. I already know the other features aren't happening though. Hopefully the lease deal will be good.
