Anyone using tork or pressertech tunes?

Check your local boneyards for a used ECU for your model. Then, have your dealership program it for your car. Just tell them you are obsessive about needing a backup since you had one ruined on a past vehicle while driving through water.

There is one for sale on eBay for a 3.3 AWD, out of South Bend IN, for $775 OBO with free shipping.

OR

Brand new from kiapartsdfw.com for $880.

Did you get any results yet?

i am leaning towards presertech, but i need to see the results and review to make a choice between tork and presertech?

Oh what an adventure!! I have WHP numbers, but no graph yet and no Tq numbers. I was not impressed with the Dyno operators. They didn't understand the car. It took four pulls to get one where they didn't hit the kick-down switch and to realize 5th gear is 1:1....

My best tuned WHP was 371, against a Stock ECU pull of 318.

"IF" the AWD drive train loss is 20%, that put my stock CHP at 397.5 and tuned CHP at 463.

The most even, no kick-down pull was heat soaked at 346 WHP.

Nonetheless, I am happy with the performance of the car and the tune. Now that the Dyno operator knows the car, I will wait until next week to have the down-pipes installed, see if I need a re-tune and then hit the Dyno again before the end of November.

It was 83 degrees and 13.53% humidity when we started our six pulls and close to 88 degrees when we finished. Also, keep in mind my elevation is 3,793 feet.

Thanks for posting this.
I am super happy with my PRESSERTECH tune as well.

Thats pretty much identical gains to my tork tune 53 vs 54 hp. How much does the PressureTech tune cost? Website only had Mercedes.

So pretty much a 53 whp gain .... that’s amazing but I need more info ?? Torque numbers and an actual curve to see the graph and boost levels is big what boost are they running ... please provide more info ...

What was you gain on tork tune ?? Do you graph of power ? What’s boost level ? And what mods ?

I just had a catback and k&n drop in. I just took pics of the screen as we tuned but didnt catch the best run. This will give you idea of the curve. Best number i saw were 407hp and 450 tq. 17-18 boost. This was a while back and they have made improvements in shift, launch and adjust A/F ratio.
I have not dynoed again since my original tune.
@TorkMe would have a better graph than my photo.

You should look at the graph in the pressertech Dyno thread. Although it is on a RWD, I have basically the same tune, except my the was created using my data.

I will post my graphs as soon as I get them and can do so.

Also keep in mind folks, Mac said he's at 3700 ft. elevation. That makes quite a bit of difference in power numbers.

I wouldn't worry about the actual number here and just concentrate on how much power it's making over stock. You really can't compare "peak" numbers from separate dynos. The number here was probably "corrected" to take altitude into account, could have been over or under corrected, we just don't know and it really doesn't matter.

From the two dynos we've seen of this tune, we can infer that it's making somewhere between 50-60 WHP overstock. So it'll increase a Stinger to roughly 430-440 HP assuming 365 is the true stock number.

20% of 371 is 74.2.. 371+74.2=445.2 not 463. Not bad results tho. DO you have a picture of the dyno chart?

Sorry, but your calc is incorrect. You must divide the 371 by. 8 to ascertain the 20% loss from the crank.

Thus, 463x80%=371

You are right. I like to interpolate personally. That leaves out certanties given by variables such as different weather, different dyno, different car, etc...

So for that you would have that if stock is 318 and tuned is 371:
371/318 = 1.167

This means the tune is making 16.7% more power than stock IN EQUAL CONDITIONS (or as equal as they can be).
Then to estimate crank hp:
365 x 1.167 = 425.83

So you have approx 426 hp at the crank if the dyno was accurate. This will not necessarily mean you had that at the dyno, because of varying conditions, but were you to dyno your engine on the same dyno Kia used, it would be around 425 hp at the crank.

How about this way:

Stock HP for RWD=365
AWD (about 10-12 whp more --14 psi boost compared to 12 psi for RWD--according to previous dyno numbers seen by Tork)--so round off to 380 crank HP

Stock ECU=318 HP
380/318=1.194968 (basically 20% driveline loss)
371*1.194968=443 crank HP (tuned)

Graphs coming shortly. Actual best tuned wheel torque was 430, and whp was 383.
