I plugged into the open "spare" socket but it provides continuous power. What socket will provide power only with the stinger ignition on?
Spare for me is ACC controlled. Turns off with ignition. Are you sure you’re in spare?

How do you like your Viofo dashcam? How did you run the power cable is it in the headliner, A pillar and plugged into the cigarette power outlet or powered by the mirror? ThanksI ran into the same problem with the BlendMount Mirror Tap for my R3. Tried every angle and no way that was going to work. So I ended up using 22 AWG quick splice wire taps and inserting the mirror tap into one end.

It works well, a little bulky, but there's plenty of space to tuck everything back in behind the mirror access panel without issue.

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but where is "spare"? I can only find one in the engine fuse diagram...did you run this all the way into the engine compartment?Spare for me is ACC controlled. Turns off with ignition. Are you sure you’re in spare?

The mirrortaps I tried were too thick and broke off, even the smallest ones, have you bought one that works? If you have a powered rearview mirror it's easier to tap into that for the Radar Detector.
I didn't use the mirror taps I had the same problem 2 I tries I couldn't get them to slid in I ended up using wire taps on the wire was much easier. I even made it so i had an extra power wire available so that if I add a camera at some point the power and ground is ready don't have to tap again. The mirrortaps I tried were too thick and broke off, even the smallest ones, have you bought one that works?
Yeah, unfortunately I'm 100% not interested in cutting into any wires. It's either going to be a working fuse tap or mirrortap for me.I didn't use the mirror taps I had the same problem 2 I tries I couldn't get them to slid in I ended up using wire taps on the wire was much easier. This is what I used https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075L586QP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It only puts a small hole in the wire. I'm like you and am against it too but It's better the running a wire to a fuse not meant to be there IMO. It can be removed and you won't even know it was there. Same for the JB4 and the fuel wires that use a Posi Tap.
I hope this helps...
My connector is different from the ones shown here. Here is the connector from my 2018 Stinger GT2. I used a mirror mount for my Uniden R3 radar detector. I placed the wiretap about an inch back from the connector. There is plenty of room under the little cover for them. The wire simply runs out the bottom to the detector. The cover over the connector pops off easily with a credit card.
You have a GT2?This is the 6 wire diagram, which I assume is for non rain sensing and whatever else it is missing. My harness has 8 wires, and the colors are different
