Another Racechip review

Ryan , I was thinking of doing magna flow cat back exhaust but wondering if I would gain or lose power or torque, and thought s on this please??

I believe you will gain hp, but not sure about torque. I’m sure someone knowledgable with regards to this will chime in.

I had my map on race mode via the App Ryan , and this is what I got for hp with RS Chip

no , just did three Dyno run s with race mode on , just to see where things were .

Having the baseline Dyno will provide you the comparison you want. Hopefully someone with an awe will share these results.

I shared these results earlier in the thread for my RWD.

Stinger GT2 RWD w/HKS plugs and Octane around 101

Baseline results = 311.6Hp @ 6043rpms & 389.6lb-ft @3215rpms

just found a vid of the Awd Stinger gt testing on the Awd Dyno first run hit 233hp the. With intake and intercooler it got 263 hp , so now I know what I hit only 320 hp on the Awd here in Kelowna bc Canada , so I gained 57 + hp in reality, feeling better now :) he he

A 3.3L shouldn’t be that low in hp. Maybe it was the 2L? Something isn’t right with that Dyno or else you didn’t read the numbers correctly. Shouldn’t be less than 300hp.

Please share the video.

Yeah Ryan ,It was a Awd 3.3 TT run on a AWD Dyno for sure , all I can say is that the Awd drive train mush really use a lot of energy! Perhaps the Dyno was off there !

What gas mileage he he uses lots of fuel ⛽️ RS CHIP In efficiency mode I run not to bad for fuel mileage is 10/100k, which is not bad but of course when you play then mileage goes totally out the door in race mode but all in all I like the RS chip :)

I be think the numbers before we’re in uk readings perhaps , as I found a Driver in our community has his AwD Stinger GT and his base for his car was 318 whp , I take with RC from Germany as I send him my DynoCom report and he said those numbers we’re very strange indeed , the Dyno operator / turner did a software update a few days ago as this was his first time to Run a Stinger GT on his DynoCom! I have my Map upgraded and I will run on the same DynoCom on Friday:) see what shows this time :)

My gas ⛽️ mileage when running in efficiency map with my RC Chip showed 8 liters /to 100 kms and this was on flat stretch of road at 80 Kph :) that was just to test it out lol

I have just received and installed my Racechip GTS. I’m in the UK however and i’m using Shell VPower 98. Only driven about 10 miles to fuel station and back but my first impressions are good (in sport+ mode) I couldn’t really tell much difference in comfort and I don’t use ordinary sport as don’t see the point just use sport+ but when I put the Racechip into Race (Map 7) the car feels like it did before but on steroids. It doesn’t particularly feel ‘more powerful’ as such but it seems to jump straight on the power like right away and never lets off until I do. So it definitely throws you back into the seat. Should call it hooligan mode. Wheel spin like crazy from a standing start. It’s Definitely not something i’ll be using in the winter or rain, put it that way. I will have Official dyno results on June 10th. However until then the butt dyno tells me the chip is definitely doing something. Other mods I have are K&n intakes and Quicksilver catback exhaust with secondary cat delete. I have kept with my stock spark plugs but have re-gapped them to 0.24. Also as I saw it mentioned earlier in the thread it’s worth pointing out that Racechip have a newer version of their app which you can actually choose which mode I.E 1-7 you want to activate when you select ‘Sport’ or ‘Race’ so I have my Race mode set to Map 7. I think the default was 6. There is also a warm up timer option which is a good idea so I set mine to 10 mins running time before the chip turns on.

Zek, I guess your running the 3.3 tt Stinger GT , and I see you also have the secondary Cats removed off the Mid pipe ,,for myself and my AWD stinger GT , when I run it hard on race mode it seems to over spool or over boosts a bit,, so I lose power for a slight bit once off into the full throttle !and fuel is running around 97 octane right now as I never has troubles, until I added the Jun BL to my Borla ,, just let me know of these problems happen any time soon :) thx Arnie :)

Correct I have the RWD 3.3 GTS. The exhaust system I have was actually a bit of luck, I didn’t even have to pay for it. Quicksilver exhausts wanted a GTS for a test bed to develop their system and I offered my car to them for a month and so as my reward I received their finished product installed with the secondary CAT deletes and it was free of charge. There’s a video on YouTube of my car with the exhaust on if you search Kia Stinger Quicksilver exhaust, check it out. As I say I have only done a short drive with the Racechip so far I will be driving it some more on Monday so will get a better feel for it then. However I did not notice any power dips when I drove it yesterday. I might look into upgrading the BOV’s in the future though as I did notice an unpleasant howl once or twice when letting off instead of the usual psshh. Not too sure if I need to look at catch cans too in the future, have you needed them?

Hi Zek, I did have two oil catch cans just recently installed as it seems that when using all the extra boost , it may cause some excess oil and moisture to be forced back through out the engine, so I got them put on just in case to keep things cleaner ! But to be honest I am not sure if this is truly needed but after reading so much about them , I got 2 put on just to be a bit on the safe side :)

Waiting to install my RC gts black hopefully tomorrow. Have stock plugs installed until my new ones arrive and get installed. Curious to hear what you DD the racechip in? Do you leave it in factory Sport mode? Or do you always bump it up to Race mode?

Right now I leave my RC in Race mode and I can change things easily with the app :)
