I was happy to read a knowledgeable article on the perils of changing wheel and tire sizes without calculating the effects on chassis, suspension, brakes, and bearings, therefore, performance. As is so often the case, the irresistible impulse to modify, dramatize, and/or pose one's vehicle drastically affects handling, as does lowering and changing factory alignment.
What's unusual about the above article, is that the Honda Civic Type R owners were DOWNSIZING to (18" rims) get a lighter wheel for better performance, yet even this option has its drawbacks. Most boy racers stuff the largest, heaviest (lol) wheel and lowest profile tire combination under their fenders to get that high performance race car look. Ironically, most race cars run much higher profiles on the track, and for many good reasons.

In my opinion the staggered setup is really only required with RWD. I have AWD so it's mostly for looks. I did want to maintain that look in the summer time although it's less practical overall.
I don't have the tire sizes with me but the OEM staggered 19" tires will now be on square 19" rims in the summer. In the winter it's completely square all around, and is the 18" OEM size of blizzaks.
