3.3TT AEM Intake Review

I trimmed the hoses to fit. Didn't need to remove much at all.

With your AEM CAI, any issues with filters slipping away from their plastic adapted?

I’m re-torquing once every two weeks to prevent filters to fall off :/

I’ll be ordering better clamp to apply better torque but I was curious if anyone else saw this issue...

Here’s some pictures, the close-ups are showing the gap on the adapter, when installed and torqued it is sitting @ 0.125’’ from the small edge on the plastic adapter, which bumper is about 0.125’’ as well. The pictures was taken about a week after I took everything apart for a good reinstall & retorque...

Thx all!

I had that happen once or twice when I first got them. Made sure to really get them on straight and tighten the piss out of the clamps, haven’t fallen off since (over a year ago).

My AEM filters keep popping out. Any solution? First I did snug, then firm, then tight!. Still pops off.

It’s a fitting issue. Should’ve gotten a BMS jk!

Same here... even wrote to AEM for assistance and barely got an answer to my email with no solution even if I provided pictures and details...
I’m waiting for warm weather to get officially here and I’ll upgrade all the clamps to spring loaded model and should be able to forget these filters...

Try taking the oil lube off the inside of tube I haven't done so but I will try next time

I did try to wipe it clean, dried it up, even heated the rubber to get it softer so the clamp can squeeze easier... almost broke the worm-clamp because of torque applied... still falls off...

The plastic adapter should be more anti-slip... that would solve everything...

I saw a YouTube video. The guy used sandpaper to dry it.

They must have changed something in how it’s built because mine has been installed for a couple years now and have never had this problem. Hoping AEM support can step up and help you out.

Probably first batch.

Never had an issue with mine as well. This was common with Agency Power though.

I’m looking into buying these intakes and I just want to make sure they fit a 2021, many sites don’t advertise then fitting this 21.

My issue was fixed. Way I did it was just use alcohol to clean the oil off the intake filter rubber from the inside then use hairspray and then clamp it on.

I'd be surprised if they didn't fit a 2021. I am not aware of any design changes in the engine bay, and that includes the 2022s. You could just contact AEM for verification.

It’ll fit most likely.

I got these for father's day but haven't installed them yet. Hope everything goes nice and smooth.

I swear, these AEM filters won't fall again ever LMAO
Installed the clamps back in April, not a sign of movement so far.
(changed the smailler one too because the oem ones was crappy and started to fail, so why not throw some on my order lol)

Install done......
Was definitely a pain in the ass. Some of the decisions they made for this are head scratching. Why not have the rubber already attached so it doesn't feel like it's cobbled together? Also, why not have the gaps in the air box so the cross braces don't dig down into the rubber seal? Seems like that woulda been pretty easy to do. I also feel that air boxes are needlessly large. Probably coulda cut down on the size of the air box by 25%.
