Height: 4"

More filter surface area is always a good thing. Both for flow, and for dirt capacity. Gonna look and see if there are any other filters that would fit. That said, if you had to guess, about how much room do you have between the end of the filter and the firewall? A taller filter would be good if possible!

In terms of cone height, it is pretty close. Drive side had a little room to work with, but not much. Passenger side was really tight though. Playing with the fitment you might be able to squeeze out another inch maybe, but it would still be very tight. (Based on how mine came out in the end at least)

Thanks for the response! Here are a couple filters I found that may fit the bill...

1 - afe filter. You can find it at summit racing, look for part number: afe-21-91054

This is 5" tall. Has a 5.5" diameter top end. Also a 7.5" diameter base (same 6" inlet flange, though).




2 - K&N dry flow filter. I found this one directly from K&N's website. P/N RU-3106HBK


This one is a tiny bit shorter than the first filter at 4.8". Top diameter is 5.25", and base diameter is 7.5" (again, has a 6" flange).

May have to do a bit of tweaking to make them fit....IF they even fit in the first place. I'm tempted to buy the AEM intake and buy the first filter and see if I can get it to work. If not, then return it.

Looking to pull the trigger on this or the NGM intakes. How have these held up for everyone? They do say plastic is better for heat soak but metal is faster at cooling. What does everyone think?

I think you should buy what looks and sounds best to you, has good reviews for easy installation and durability, and meets your price requirements. Especially for street driving, I don't think you're going to find much, if any, difference in real world performance between brands (metal or plastic).

Thank you for that information. I tried locating some videos for the AEM intake for the stinger, but majority are all injen. Do you have a video of your set by any chance?

My AEM intakes have help up just fine, though there isn't too much that can go wrong with an intake over time. I have a video on youtube for the sound after the install, but the audio quality didn't translate well...

Thinking of installing AEM cold intake to my 2.0, there is one that has a box and looks pretty sealed, has anyone used this product? How does it compare to the KNM?

Purchased my AEM setup off TDotperformance on Thanksgiving to with an extra to 10% discount. Just waiting on delivery. Hopefully it gets here before it gets to cold out.

Just installed the AEM kit on my 2021 GT1. The sound, the first time I got got on it, scared the sh*t out of me! Looking forward to tomorrow's cold start. Working for the manufacturer has it's perks. Had my choice of the AEM or K&N and chose the AEM for the molded black pipes looking closer to OE and higher HO/TQ. Came from a tuned Mustang Ecoboost Premium and this car is just incredible!

How long did your install take? Was it as easy as it looks? Just got my intakes, now its install time.

When I did mine it was a couple of hours, mainly cause of how tight a fit everything is. Reaching down to where the intakes hookup to the turbos is a pain.

Do the Plastic NPT fittings(couplers) on the driver side tighten all the way down or do threads show?

Gave AEM a call to ask. Customer service on the other end was as useless as tits on a bull. Definitely had no idea what I was talking about our what the answer was. Said that the posts break easy so be careful. WTF. What would it have cost for AEM to supply couplers with metal threading.

Any way. Took me about an hour and half to get everything installed. Was actually easier than I expected.

Anyone who installed did you replace the tubing between the BOV or use the stock and cut to fit.

Next up is finishing install of my OCC. I noticed a spot of oil on the intake to the turbo on the driver side..
