• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Access to "engineering mode"

Cool video Vinny. Can you upload high res photos of the PCB?

Sure is interesting to see what's physically inside it - however the skill required to actually reverse engineer & hack the software on it would not be a trivial task.

Would make sense that the boards are fairly universal between various Kia/Hyundai models granted there's that resistor selection to present the actual hardware config (to software)

Can you see any connector/pinout for serial console access?

is there any way to replace the firmware for the non navi unit? or enable hidden functions? can you plz update us.

Has anyone found the code for us aussies that lets us access proper engineering mode?

From Australia. No update from me other than the last annual map and system update was in May 2019 (using Hyundai/Kai Smart Update Manager) and this broke the previous codes that allowed ability to side load android apps.
So next annual map update and possible system update should have been out in May 2020, but nothing yet.

2900 worked for my 2020 GT but i'm in the US. Worth a try though.

using code 2400 after accessing using this method below, gets to Dealer Mode on latest version available in Australia for Stinger

Nice find!

To summarize the video:
1. Go to Settings / About (version numbers will be displayed)
2. Use the steering wheel buttons - set volume to 7
3. Press the tuner dial button on the dash
4. Use the steering wheel buttons - set volume to 3
5. Press the tuner dial button on the dash
6. Use the steering wheel buttons - set volume to 1
7. Press the tuner dial button on the dash
8. Enter password 2400

Nothing exciting inside apart from some diagnostic readings of various sensors used by the infotainment system.

There’s a part 2 to that video on YouTube that goes to engineering mode after entering dealer mode

There’s a part 2 to that video on YouTube that goes to engineering mode after entering dealer mode
part 2 of video - does not work on Australian Stinger. But following does ( but not full access like in past, so cannot sideload apps) "code 2998 after access settings screen > about menu. Click the "map" text 4 times; then click the map version number text.

Great thank you, will try them all. Really appreciated

Jeff Hulbert posted a short video in one of the facebook groups last week. I did get into engineering mode on mine, but any change I made was reset to factory upon restarting the car. I wanted to get rid of that annoying battery discharge warning, and I did, but only until I restarted the car.

Does anyone have an idea how to get Engineering Mode in this car ?
The most interested for me is "Android Settings"

BTW: I found this helpful instruction (for those who finally get Engineering Mode) and would like to make a next step which is installation own apk :)

Like you I can get into Engineering mode using
Tap 4 times on „Firmware“ or „Map“ and tap once on its version on the same line, and 2998.
But no option/ no access to Android settings to side load APKs. The software version of mine (Australian) is CK_19MY.AUS.SOP.004.1.190403.5

Did we ever find out if we can do anything useful in engineering mode?

nothing new ?
i m trying till now without success to enter in engineer mode to try to set the sensivity of parking rear sensor
