Hahaha.... this topic has been beat to death. However no one has a reason besides cost cutting. Same thing applies to suede headliner, heated rear seats, and wireless phone charging.Hi,
There may already be a thread for this, but the USA stinger will not have a 360 camera. Any thoughts as to why?
True. This kinda sucks... also the sunroof is not even panoramic. These small features ruin the car a bit.... the optima has heated rear seats, wireless charging, and a 360 camera!Hahaha.... this topic has been beat to death. I've had so many of these conversations in the past about Cadillac. WHY on EARTH would they not just keep the feature in the car and charge extra for it. Even if they were to simply COVER the COST of the item! I just don't get it. There must be a plan in place. And it has to be about making more money later. Or something. We can speculate but only they know the real reason...Because it probably saved them a hundred dollars or so per car and they didn't really want to sell me one that badly.

Yeah, simplicity would be a good, reasonable reason... But does it outweigh the value of giving buyers options?Efficiencies of scale require simplicity for the manufacturer. Fewer options means lower cost to build, all else being equal. They’re saving money by limiting your choices, though im skeptical of how much in sme cases.

Every one believes Americans are rich. They are probably saving all the good stuff they flaunted on us to charge the US Market for later. I really think it sucks. I have been thinking of going to Canada and getting one up there. The Loaded GT2 AWD is $10,000 cheaper!Because it probably saved them a hundred dollars or so per car and they didn't really want to sell me one that badly.
Consider one of these from Jun B L of Korea!I'll tell you something else that sucks big time as Kia (and every car manufacturer) endlessly search to hustle a buck. Our market is so small in NZ we only get one GT variant which is fully loaded BUT when I went to delete the unwanted sunroof through bitter past experience (Google 'Exploding Sunroofs') they won't give one cent back for an unwanted highly expensive item I had already paid for AND wanted to charge $3000 for a bi-modal exhaust which is the only option not included. WTF?
Welcome aboard, @Stephen W. Hill! And thank you for signing up. Yes, you're right. A lot of people outside the U.S. think we're all rich and our lives are easy. They move here thinking they've hit a gold mine and then realize you actually have to work, hard, and you don't make a lot of money easily... It's a shame and I bet we'll eventually see these features come in at an extra expense - maybe a new package. When all is said and done - it's probably a strategy that works very well for Kia's investors...Every one believes Americans are rich. i really don't know what to believe anymore. i'm just going to wait and see what people say after they have their stinger sitting in their driveway in america. Are you guys sure the US version isn't getting the 360 camera? The US user manual, page 199 talks about the Surround View Monitoring (SVM) system.
Well all the Stingers that have hit dealer lots clearly have the “Camera View” button missing between the heated seat controls. We have “park assist” and “auto stop/start”. And if you opt for AWD, you also get the “heated steering wheel” button. That’s it.....for this 1st round of cars at least. Maybe future shipments could have it, warranting the US manual stating this. If that’s the case, it will be very unfortunate for the early adopters of the car.Are you guys sure the US version isn't getting the 360 camera? I think the same thing happened with the navigation screen. If I'm not mistaken, the initial batch went out with one screen and now newer ones having a nicer version. I think Australia has the first version and U.S./Canada has the newer one. I just wonder if the second batch in Australia will still have the older screen or the newer version...Well all the Stingers that have hit dealer lots clearly have the “Camera View” button missing between the heated seat controls. If they have any kind of brains, they'll keep things the same for the second batch. If same model years are getting upgrades, they're going to piss off a lot of people.
