On my way to Cali Saturday, I pulled over to answer nature. It was an onramp. So, uphill slightly, I engaged Launch Control and performed the best LC I have yet done (rare events, these LCs). It was very brisk. But, I think that my method using the auto hold and not mashing the go pedal produces an equally satisfying acceleration.Did see someone comment to progressively apply the throttle rather than just mash it down. Might have to try that.
Also, launch control is barely any different I find.

I definitely feel like it has terrible lag off the line. But not sure if it's turbo lag or the computers getting in the way. A half decent 3.3 litre even without turbos should be able to spin the wheels off the line so I suspect its the computers stopping the fun. I'm considering a pedal box/throttle controller. That's how I found this thread actually.
My other car is an old fashioned V8 that runs very similar qtr mile times to the stinger but I'd be a car length or 2 in front of the stinger but then the stinger would catch up.

I really wonder whether some cars are not quite the same as others. Anyone in Perth, Australia want to compare because I swear mine is a slug off the line but maybe some others are not.
We're staying in Huntington Beach. And we've been driving to meet family as far north as Van Nuys.Where in CA did you go, Merlin?

No sir. Going back the same way I came in; I-15.Cool. Are you headed past the Bay Area on your way home?
I don't quite understand what I'm looking... shit yeah I want to do what they're doing, but is it modified? And how? They're talking about there own ECU installed instead of factory ECU? Or a piggy back style? I'm hoping just a throttle controller might be enough to allow burnouts. Since it's my work car and my other car is off the road I really don't want to do anything yet that could void warranty.
I was advised by a sales guy at the Kia Dealership I take my car for service to that anything that affects the " Hardrive " will void warranty. You can put cool air intakes in, change exhausts etc. I think people piggyback JB4's etc so they can disconnect it so when it goes in for service the factory ECU is not affected. ( I think it works something like that )I don't quite understand what I'm looking... shit yeah I want to do what they're doing, but is it modified? And how? I kinda know what he means... though there is definitely no hard drive anywhere in the car. haha.I was advised by a sales guy at the Kia Dealership I take my car for service to that anything that affects the " Hardrive " will void warranty. I'm female so I just listened and smiled politely, he doesn't know what he's on about thenI kinda know what he means... though there is definitely no hard drive anywhere in the car. haha.
Yeah...I'm sure he does now enough about what he's talking about but I think he was mansplaining it to you a bit.I'm female so I just listened and smiled politely, he doesn't know what he's on about thenmaybe he meant the " ECU " ? but he's referring it to as the hardrive of the car ?
