2022 (US) sequential tail lights retrofit?

Ordered them for mine. I will wait on the center section. I have a 2021, which does not light up. It is also easier to justify the purchase if I split up the parts.

Cool, I go through there all the time. Couple of good gunsmiths there. Post a pic of your car in your profile

Change what parts you are ordering. It will go down the ~750. $1100 is for the center section as well which you don’t need if you have a 22 (or even an older one I suppose).
Wouldn't it look weird on a 2018-2021 if you don't have the middle section to match the new turn signals?

I don’t know. But if you want to center, it is $1100 and the install is more complicated too. It requires you to drill a couple more hold to accommodate the revised bolt pattern. The videos at the top of the post show that.

Just an FYI, I was reading the actual owners manual and it said to remove the tail light you pry off the body colored panel before you unscrew the tail light module from the body. I think this actually makes sense. You would have a lot more leverage to get it off without breaking it I suspect.

How did you take it off without taking the body colored panel off? There is a screw behind it.

You can get to the screw with a 10mm ratcheting wrench. I ended up having a body shop take them apart for me. This would have been easier. Oh well.

I just ordered the center section as well. Yeah, it would really look like ass without it.

I am liking the lights so far. Only broke one tab trying to remove the painted trim from the right taillight. Took about 90 minutes. Had to enlarge a couple holes and drill two more for the center section. But all the electrical was plug and play.

If you don’t wanna spend the $$$ on the KDM LED Lights, I just replaced my incandescent bulb with a LED bulb from iJDMtoys. Granted they will not be sequential but they are sustainably brighter then stock. First pic shows led on the left vs oem on the right. Second pic is both LEDs.

Really the only thing I don't like about the incandescent setup is the frosted lens. It looks retro but in a bad way.

The reason I know this is because I have already disassembled it. The bottom light is most definitely incandescent.

The top is merely the way to disconnect the harness from the LED strip.

did you open up the entire headlight or just took out the lightbulb?

curious if its easy to take off the outer lenses
like it just pops off or if it needs to be cut?

wanting to try and do sequential on the 2018-2021 model style but curious how hard it'd be to even get to the area

Are you trying to replace the entire part, or modify what you have? If you want to replace them with the 22 KDM lights, it shouldn't be a problem. It is just plug and play. If you want to modify them, you might be better off getting the sequential reflector replacements they sell on various stinger stones instead. He was talking about the 22 tail lights, and I couldn't figure out how to modify those to work like the KDM lights because the US is a single incandecent while KDM is ~16 LED's.

Wow that looks Awesome! I just order my rear LEDs as well. It was just plug and play! That’s great! Glad to hear it is just drilling holes. Also where did you get your black GT emblem?

Thanks. It is just plasti-dip, shadow black HyperDip aerosol.

Could we get the part number for the Center bar too?
