2019 GT2 - Total Loss

It was totalled?

Seems repairable to me. Unless I didnt see it clearly.

You need to open it on youtube.. Doesn't play in the frame for some reason.

What was the reason for total? In the old days that would be fixable most likely.

I would buy it back if it seems salvageable at all. I did that with my Cadillac and fixed everything myself that needed fixing, pretty much retained the vehicle for like 1600 all said and done.

Everything in front of the radiator was trashed and that was moved back. I suspected potential frame damage due to the new gaps created at both A-pillars. The video only showed one.

I don't want it back so that I can fix it. Be aware that just a headlight costs $1800.

I haven't been told but I asked for a copy of the estimate...
I believe the $29000 repair estimate and the inability to get parts played major roles. Yeah, $29000!

Cars these days are sacrificial. It's unfortunate for the car but a good thing for the people.

I have a buddy that was in a late 70s Ford pickup that was rear-ended by a Subaru Forester in the early aughts. The Subie was totaled, and there was barely a scratch on the bumper of the Ford but he had back issues for years afterwards. It just isn't worth it.

Exactly. It's all about the crush zone.

Look on the bright side. A deer hit is considered a comp claim. You probably have lower deductible for that. Also, I believe that such a claim is considered not at fault. Win win.

Can't watch, no apologies. Hope everything works out to your satisfaction.

Damn. I see why now.

Does the insurance payout include market adjustment (inflation)?

With a 29k estimate, I assume mechanically something was wrong. Cosmetically seeing 29k mostly seems wild.

what's next? new stinger?
