Gentlemen... this recall isn't going to start until the 20th
We know this. But the point is that we all already know about it and know it's coming. Our dealership service teams do not.Gentlemen... this recall isn't going to start until the 20th
I didn't really bring it up with them with the hopes of getting a fix on the spot. I just wanted to talk about it. It was all over the news (I received texts from multiple people to tell me about it when the story broke) and there have been official documents about it released by the NHTSA. What's off-putting to me is the fact they don't, at the very least, have the same knowledge as we do about the situation. Like no heads up from Kia to alert them of the impending issue? Or is it some sort of company policy that they can't talk about it until recalls are officially "official"?They aren't going to know about it until then though... You can't expect them to resolve a recall that hasnt been put into the vin's yet.

I had mine in the shop yesterday for a few things, mostly re-badging, but also the fading stereo. Before I left for them to work on it, I mentioned the wiring harness recall. They hadn't gotten word yet that they were okay to look at. Three hours later, it popped up on my account so they looked at it.Got my recall letter in the mail this week.
Does your VIN pop up as an affected vehicle on either the NHTSA or Kia Recall websites? I was 99% sure my car would be getting flagged but so far both sites tell me no recall. I am out of town until the 1st week of January so I have no access to my mail and was going to take care of the fix at the local dealer here in Virginia where I'm currently at.Got my recall letter in the mail this week.
Shiiii.. You right. Didn't even realize you are from the north before asking. Anyone in the US able to check and see?A Canadian car would be found on the Transport Canada site - not NHTSA.
Same thing mine says, even though everything I've read in the recall documents leads me to believe a fix is required for me. Not that it's particularly worrisome or pressing to me, just something that will eventually need to get checked off the listMine says "0 Recalls Associated With This VIN".
Yep. I don't need to make an appointment. I'm about due for an oil change / maintenance. And I have that 19mm Eibach rear sway bar coming. When it gets here, I'll do the oil change, wire harness check, and sway bar installation all at once.![]()
Me too.How much is your dealer charging to install? And, we're looking forward to your before/after review.![]()
