Changes vs. the pricing information released on Sept. 26th:

• Stinger $0
• Stinger Premium +$100
• Stinger GT -$650
• Stinger GT1 -$250
• Stinger GT2 -$300
• AWD $0
• Destination +$5

I will go cup half full this time around. At least we finally know the pricing.....

Thanks. There is an updated overview press release posted now, but seems to be mostly a duplicate of the September 26th PR. Perhaps someone not on a mobile phone could compare the two, and report what changes were made.

Yeah I'd like to know to know set in stone differences between the GT, GT1, and GT2. I need AWD since rear wheel drive in winter is a no go here in Iowa when it gets bad; I'm really not wanting to spend more than $45K max since in just a couple years I will have lost half the cars value due to depreciation.

I really like the red nappa leather, but since it's only on the GT2 it's essentially a $8-10k upgrade from the normal GT and from looking at the specs it appears to be the biggest/one of the biggest changes between models.. Unless I'm missing something? It's kind of silly you can't just add it as an option rather than only being on a car that's fully loaded.

As far as I can tell its the exact same information. All the stuff "left out" before (360 degree camera, wireless charging, rear heated seats, fuel economy, etc.) is still missing.

Found this possibly "bad news" statement for those hoping to be early adopters:

"the Stinger is planned to go on sale in the U.S. in December 2"

2 Initially only available in certain markets with limited availability.

So in December there will be a limited number of dealerships in the US who, in turn, have a limited supply of Stingers.

YET ANOTHER guy from the dealer I think is getting my business just called. I was upset to find that they have taken 5 pre-orders, contrary to what I'd been told previously, despite my asking more than once about placing a deposit. But I was happy to hear I can test drive next week, mid-week. This guy says it DOES have a 360º cam, but I didn't get a clear answer about which trim levels. I'm still withholding my full belief in him, as he said that HUD will be available on the 4-cyl. with GT trim (First I've heard that, and I think I'll get the GT2 any way) and that the dark blue some of you guys have been mourning not getting here IS in the U.S. in the initial shipment. He said their dealer was the first to get the Cadenza (really?), and so they anticipate no problems with supply on the Stinger. I'm going to try to head over to the dealer later today in hopes that my frequent and insistent looming presence will inspire them to do their job and get me my car sooner rather than later.

Any advice from those of you who deal with dealerships more frequently than I have (that's ALL of you) will be gratefully accepted.

I believe all this "limited supply, limited number of dealers" is nonsense and sounds like a marketing gimmick. Considering that winter testing of the Stinger began in February or March, Kia has had ample time to gear up for production. Also, Kia is playing the US market by releasing the car in small but prominent markets like Australia to build up buzz for the larger US market. All of this spurious activity by Kia increasingly worries me in terms of dealer experience and long term servicing of the car. Kia appears to be unable to present a competent, reassuring face to the introduction of what is being touted as an epochal car,

If you look at the spreadsheet on the KIA website the 4-cylinder will not be available in GT trim, or as the Soup Nazi would say, "no flat bottom steering wheel for you!" The regular website has finally confirmed the entry level MSRP will be $31,900 but does not indicate any other prices nor models/options.

Considering the $6000 difference from GT1 to GT2, I assume there's going to be several highly desired features that will only be available on the GT2. We kind of already know what they could have on the maximum trim so it's all a matter of what's in and what's out for the GT and GT1.

I was checking out the Australian KIA site to try to get an idea of what they might do. If I could get my #1 color (deep chroma blue), I may be more inclined to just go all the way with a GT2.
To be honest though, the red interior goes great with my #2 color (Panthera Metal) so that might push me towards a GT2 as well. Also, I'd have to get the AWD where I'm located so that would mean paying the max price. There may not be too many scenarios where I can get away with saving a little money. We'll have to see the details of what's offered with the GT and GT1 to see exactly what would be lost.
