• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Kia Stinger - Australia discussions (pre-release)

Morning Guys,

How good. I just Rung Southland Kia to see if the have ordered my Black with Red Leather.
They have got 2 Cars that have fallen over.
Micro Blue and Deep Chroma Blue as well (Black Leather). Deliverable before Christmas. He said he might have a Black with Black Leather too.
But wasn't to Sure.

Give them a Buzz to get one now. The Micro Blue is on the floor Ready to go.

I'm going to head down and have a look at both colours in person.

(I am very happy with my SWP/ RNL)

Just looking.......

My understanding of the car deals ordered that fell through were then offered automatically to the next people in line. Would this be your understanding? This is the way the dealer explained it.

Im sure they already have.
Just going off what they told me.

You guys are lucky. It seems we're not getting Deep Chroma Blue here in the U.S. - and a lot of people want it...
That sucks! Have no idea what their logic is, anyone know?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
At the risk of starting something (again). Is it ADR compliant with them blacked out?
You serious?

Worry about how it looks, not ridiculous government laws.........

De-badging is against Kia's badge policie, but look at us go.........

Makes about as much sense as no Panthera Metal grey in OZ for the GT.........

Has anyone seen this colour in the flesh yet? photos please

True just checked Kia Us web site for stinger colours. 7 colours no DCB. Strange as on youtube 2 dealers demos cars are DCB. One from memory was Bloomington?

Terra, not sure if you're serious or not either - I was just asking a question, I assume the reflectors are there for reason and possibly a safety one so just thought I'd ask. And I realise the police are too busy hiding cameras in unmarked cars on 100kmh dual carriageways to even notice......

There's a minor difference between taking badges off and removing safety equipment - just sayin'.

The insurance companies have forced auto makers to add refelctors to the sides and rear of vehicles to potentially improve the "visibility" hopefully leading to fewer accidents ....................... it makes sense when the car is parked at night maybe ...................Its purely a choice to improve the look of your car , auto designers are forced into it begrudgingly .

So that's the reason for the silly rear side reflectors...

I guess Kia did the best they could with having to have it there...

I suspect that is designers....anyone hitting a parked car from that angle would've needed more than reflectors to avoid it....

I you look at the headlights on the Stinger , they have the reflectors integrated , its the ugly egg yolk colored bit in the upper corner , I can live with that one , if you look at BMW they put the front ones into the wheel arch , really ugly . I always deleted them with vinyl ...............

I would be super worried that if I did get in a wreck that either the insurance wouldn't pay out because the reflector was covered or the popos would somehow find a way to write me a ticket and make it my fault.
It does look WAY better with them covered though.

Not true, but true. More than likely, insurance companies lobbied the US DOT. And holy crap! No freaking wonder cars are so damn expensive! And this is ONLY about external lighting and reflectors!
