3.3TT Kia Stinger Aftermarket Exhaust Information and Discussion

Just curious, what would be the effect of cutting out the flattened portion where the exhaust is restricted on the stock exhaust and just replacing that portion with 2.5" exhaust tubing

A while back I did some research into this. I found the stock Camaros come with a similar crimp in the same location. I found a post where a guy did a before and after test of sound and dyno results. In short there was no discernable different in either.

We were only having issues with the exhaust when we were completely straight piped from turbo back. The primary cat delete is what through it over the edge.

I guess I'm not sure how that would set off the CEL since there are not any valves or relays collecting data from that point of the exhaust. If the CEL is reading it based on a change in pressure then all after market exhausts would cause the same problem.
Just seems like a less expensive alternative that any exhaust shop could do, maybe it would reduce the life of the existing exhaust system but better than throwing out a new exhaust system before it dies.

With the test on the Camaro I would not expect it to show a change on the dyno. Just changing the exhaust by improving air flow leaving the vehicle will not generate horsepower by itself. You have to increase the intake of air as well such as through improved air intakes.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Tork motorsports did it during there initial tuning and it set off the CEL. Also put car in limp mode.
I think you're referring to the primary cats. There are plenty of people out there with catbacks, axlebacks and muffler deletes and nobody has gotten a CEL.

In korea there is a new exhaust that is getting a lot of attention. It is the RES titanium exhaust (catback with variable valve).
It costs about 4000usd so almost twice the price of other exhausts but it is said to sound very good and have absolutely zero drone (people say). Also, it is almost 20kg lighter than the stock exhaust.
Anyone heard of it in the US?
There is no video on youtube but maybe you guys can check this korean site:

You are right. Apparently I need more sleep but the fireworks won't stop.

Wow that sounds pretty amazing at speed. I would buy that for 2K not 4.

Sounds different, he certaintly gave it a test, pretty loud. Good video though.

I would love to see a EVC with the option of almost stock and the other option muffler delete straight through pipe.
Having my mufflers deleted and running k&n air intake. Saving lots that way and going to be sick!!

Am I crazy for considering buying that exhaust? 4K is not small coin...

The price must be wrong. That is about $5,500 Australian dollars. I’ve seen plenty of exotic car titanium exhausts and I think this tops the lot as far as price and is Korean made not Italian made.

The price -install included- is exactly 3,960,000KRW which equals to 3,553USD (My bad, wasn't aware that the dollar recovered that much since last time I checked). Then you have to add 100 bucks to get it validated by the authorities (required process here).

Sounds pretty. The best of both worlds. Quite when you need it and Loud and mean when you need it to.
Also a lot lighter than the factory. So its a win-win in my book.

@xot1 you are not crazy considering it.

To be honest I’m considering also. It does look and sound to be the best so far. Would be interesting dyno results to compare against the Jun BL GT I am also considering.

It is still a new product so lets wait and we should get some interesting reviews/comparisons.

Added to my EVC options. This looks good! Jun BL, Xforce Varex ... now this ... more reasearch needed.
