I ended up canceling the order. I went with the open source intakes instead

I have the K&N Typhoon installed on my GT2 and you can keep it quiet or make it as loud as you want just based on how fast the turbo's are spooling. Very easy to control how loud it is with the volume (gas) pedal. If you press the pedal down to just get the turbos spinning you'll hear a nice loud hiss and in between gear shifts there is a bit of blow off pshhhhh and the pitch of the hiss changes. It sounds awesome and people on the street totally notice it. That said, if you slam on the gas the turbo spool is so quick that you almost don't even hear it at all because it is higher pitched than normal humans can hear. If you drive with a light foot in a 30 or even 45mph zone you can keep it quiet and stealthy..but there is no fun in doing that. My butt dyno tells me that throttle response IS better and under WOT the initial throw you back in your seat feeling is more pronounced than without it. For highway driving at higher speeds you cannot hear it at all, it's only when you are under maybe 10% boost or more before the hiss is audible. Under full boost if you let off the pshhhh sounds is VERY noticeable. I originally disconnected the BOV hoses from the factory intakes and aimed the hoses up at the hood and plugged the intakes to try to get more pshhhh sound. The K&N intakes make it easily 5X louder under heavy boost vs just disconnecting the hoses. I may try to post a video at some point.

1) The way the “vents” are positioned they would be better to vent hot air out than bring cool air in. A Subaru style hood scoop would be needed to bring in cool air efficiently.

2) There are “ram air” style vents already in the intake system stock. These vents are pointed directly at the filters in the K&N system and bring in fresh air from the front of the car.

Apologies if this has been posted before: In case anyone questions if KIA would make an issue of a K&N CAI installation impacting the car's warranty, apparently KIA themselves are has showcased a Stinger with the K&N CAI installed:

Amazon is so funny there are so many products on Amazon listed to fit and they dont. Have you tried with drop in filter from Amazon to confirm fitment? I'm pretty sure K&N hasnt come out with a drop in filter for the Stinger yet, pretty sure the 2.0T and 3.3T take different filters too but I could be wrong

A drop in filter is completely different than a cone filter. Not sure if you were getting the two confused?

Not cone filter. Drop in square replacement.just talked to kn they do not make oem replacement for stinger yet

There is an added flow rate over a paper filter but like @Kamauxx stated the main benefit is the reusability of the filters. If you're in the market for the set check them out on our website:
