Cell phone holder placement

Pics, please!

sorry no pic in the holder because needed phone to take the pic.... but very happy with this placement so far. the surface on the side is the gloss piano black plastic so the suction cup adhered very well.

on another note, what is the auto engine shut down called? (lol, probably that right?) need to search for info on it if theres a way to keep it disabled, not liking it. and it's weird, sometimes I get in my car and it's disabled, sometimes it's not so I got used to it being disabled automatically and now I don't check and then I hit a red light and the engine shuts down. ughhhh, fancy car troubles. LOL

and yes that's the protective plastic still on the touch screen and the aluminum trim over the glove box.. I haven't even peeled the gas and brake pedal yet. don't judge me!

Auto Stop or ISG, idle stop and go.

it doesn't engage until engine is warmed up, there's a delay. but you can deactivate right after startup. I find it annoying too. turn it off everytime...

cool, thanks. it's very odd though sometimes the disengage switch is enabled without me ever enabling it, and sometimes it's not. I wish If I disengage it it would stay that way even after restarting the car. getting annoying having to keep disengaging it.

Thank you! That's probably too far a reach for my lazy self, but worth a try!

20180308_065339.webp IMG_00311.webp I think I've settled on this position.

That seems...less than optimal. I prefer places that don't block any view of the screen.

We don’t get sat nav here in Singapore so there’s not much to see on that 8” unless you are on Apple Play/maps or Android. For me that spot is good as I use Google maps right off the mobile.

Probably need 3 but 2 is good enough for now lol. (Work and personal phone)

Same here - perhaps you can test something for me? Can you have one connected via cable for apps & music, but the other connected via BT for phone/text only? Music not critical because I use a tiny USB flash drive that holds everything I need.

If it works, I will probably switch my work phone to Android so I can use the apps I want (waze) on the display.

Unfortunately not. When you connect a phone via USB, it completely takes over all phone functionality as well and disconnects the other phone from Bluetooth.

What if you connect a non-phone device, like a tablet without cellular?

So, here's the mount I'm currently satisfied with: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076B27WP6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And here's how/where it's mounted:

Horizontal_Phone_Mount.jpg

I let the pad sit on top of the dash for two days (40 degree weather) and then mounted it. It actually fell off the next day. But that must have been me, because it's not fallen off for almost 3,000 miles since. When horizontal, the USB cable drapes over the edge of the display, but it's not bad IMHO. I do wish it extended about an inch further. If it did, I'd be able to nudge it to the left a bit and have a clear screen. My phone is a Pixel2 XL.
