Burger Tuning JB4 for Kia Stinger!

How many plugs/coils were damaged? Has Kia has identified a non-tune related issue with the coils & plugs? Just curious why Kia is replacing all of them.

So far I only found one bad plugs and coils. They are to believe it might be a bad batch of plugs or coils. If they see more of these concern it will probably turn into a recall.

Good Lord. An hour long almost. 15 minutes just to get the intake manifold off by a professional mechanic.

Yeah, I'm happy to let you all keep R&D'ing these things. I can't wait until all the posts start from problems due to not re-assembling properly.

@Dustin, did you install the JB4 yet? Have you had any issues with yours?

@GTBrandon how many miles have you driven with the JB4 on so far?

@Killa200 have you tried the tune with 91/93 octane yet?

@jdouga have you experienced any issues with yours?

@RandallK any verification about which octane you're using? 91 or 93?
I just installed my JB4 yesterday. My car only has 300 miles on it so haven’t ran it super hard to long yet. I have the HKS plugs that the uncle chip requires “not installed yet” they are 45il’s because yes they are different than the 2.0 which are 45xl’s. I have 92 octane as well. Running on tune 1 with the typhoon intakes.

What's the operating system requirements for the software? I cant run the program on my laptop. Says the program stopped running and was shut down???

My thoughts too...so many clips and bolts to move that damn manifold. And the coolant line still attached. As heat bakes that it may or may not continue to just pivot over like he showed.

I think I counted at least 16 bolts on just the manifold. Great design...

The lack of torque was more concerning.

Those that have actually pulled these...were yours similarly lightly torqued??

I'm running the program on my tablet running Windows 8.1. I'd imagine the program would be fine on Windows 7 and 10 as well.

Any misfires from these piggy backs are 100% due to spark blow out on the transient increase in cylinder pressure during the onset of boost. The 3.3T pistons seem to have a high compression height with small quench area. This could be exacerbating the blow out issue. No matter what the PB maker says, you need to use the best quality plug you can with it gapped down to .022-4. this should remove the misfire conditions most seem to be having.

I tend to agree. It would be nice to know if the OEM plugs work when gapped down, as well.

I’m doing mine right now. And yes I’ve found the same thing. The factory plugs are not very tight at all. Barely any effort to back out.

You putting new plugs on not regapping the stock plugs, correct?

image.webp image.webp Putting in the HKS plugs today with a 24k gap. Should solve any spark blow issues. If anyone is wondering what the factory plugs are they are NGK Iridium SILZFR7A 9G’s. I’m sure if your reading any of the posts on here people are going to a cooler plug with a tighter gap. The factory gap has averaged 34 to 36k on the ones I removed.
