So glad I still have a big box van for hauling stuff. But Stinger's liftback and longer cabin is one main reason I decided to buy a second Stinger, rather than a second G70.
I did take 4 road bikes (of the pedal kind) to the shop with 2 on top, 2 inside and all of my cycling gear.So glad I still have a big box van for hauling stuff. But Stinger's liftback and longer cabin is one main reason I decided to buy a second Stinger, rather than a second G70.
Why?I also brought a sandwich bag for the old filter to take home.
I also requested that once the car was up on the hoist, that I wanted to see it up close and scout out the undercarriage.
I wanted to see where everything was, and how to do a future oil change on my own, if possible.
This is very cool. I didn't know that you could get the drip rails/gutters in high gloss piano black like that.Picked up a pair of pre-painted roof molding to continue my two toned stormtrooper theme. Came directly from Korea

The molding is extremely easy to pop off with a trim tool

Overall an easy update that looks factory

"Picked up", what did you do, order directly through the dealer parts department or from some other source? How much did it cost?
Ima interested in this because on both the Micro Blue and Silky Silver, the finish on these parts is showing the ubiquitous weathering patterns that so many have complained about. And I think that high gloss black is a good cosmetic modification instead of trying to match the body color. Or am I just making this difficult? Are all of the factory colors available for these parts prepainted?
Fair enough question. Two reasons. One, I'm just curious as to how good/bad it looks. Check for debris etc. Why?
Fair enough. I fully support having a STRONG suspicious attitude towards dealerships, or any mechanic, until you can build a trusting relationship - fraud exists..Fair enough question. Two reasons. One, I'm just curious as to how good/bad it looks. Check for debris etc.
The main reason though is to assure that the oil filter change actually gets done.
Most dealers don't allow you into the shop to watch any work being done.
I've been burned in the past for oil changes that weren't actually done. One was at an Indie shop many years ago when I was young and stupid.
Second was at a Ford dealer where I had them dead to rights (they never admitted it), and possibly once at a Nissan dealership in Florida when I was on vacation, although I've never been able to prove it.
Asking for the filter back forces them to either change it, or dig around in their garbage for a used filter.
If it comes back in the bag, and it's still warm, then I'm Ok.
For sure re: fraud. I'm a senior, and I deal with everything now with a big dose of skepticism and suspicion.Fair enough. I fully support having a STRONG suspicious attitude towards dealerships, or any mechanic, until you can build a trusting relationship - fraud exists..
