New Navigation/Infotainment Update?

Will you update?

Thank you so much for taking the time to help me with this! I updated the firmware based on your helpful instructions but my Stinger still won’t connect with it. I realize this stuff is kinda hit or miss; maybe I’ll try a different CarPlay dongle because I will severely miss wireless.
After the update, were you able to connect to the dongle, plugged into the wall, with your phone via WiFi? PW=12345678.

If so, set make, model, and year.

You’ll probably got a window suggesting an update. Say yes. When that’s done, you’ll need to reconnect to WiFi. You’ll probably see another window suggesting an update. Say yes.

I had 4 or 5 updates to install. The third one, I think, changed the graphics dramatically from a simple list to a Star Trek theme.

When it stops suggesting updates, find the screen where you can request it to check for updates. Keep going until it says it’s on its latest version.

Then head to the car and connect everything like the first time…through Bluetooth to WiFi.

User manual to do so:

Good luck.

Ah ok, I understand better now and completed the final steps. Yes, it works again now. Fantastic, thank you so much!

Not sure.. I mostly listen "classic rock / 80s / 90s" type stuff with some variation, but the wife and kids do like some newer stuff. Any suggestions for a good song to try it out?

As far as noticing it, I'm talking about putting my hand on the sub, and feeling like there's stronger vibrations coming from the door..

none of that music you listed above will hit low enough to get the factory subs moving. i listen to thrash / metal / rock, and same deal - the factory subs are crossed over at an extremely low frequency (around 40Hz), which means frequencies slightly above that are all filtered out. 40Hz is getting into the subsonic frequency range, where you don't even hear the sound, you *feel* it

two solutions -
(1) add a powered sub, or amp and sub. my powered sub is crossed over around 100-ish Hz
(2)use an EQ to boost the lower frequencies. i use the Poweramp app to listen to music on AA, and give a slight boost to 62Hz - you can hear the underseat subs more. ((not my settings below, just a pic from the internets))

if the new software update does "make the factory subs more noticeable", i'm sure all they did was raise the value of the lowpass filter up from the 40-ish Hz it had been set at

I was really surpassed when I saw that there is a support for wireless AA, but unfortunately - My joy was short - it looks like it's avaliable only (looking on the screenshots on update.kia.com - Europe) for ccNC navigation systems (I'm not sure car models). I'm with Europe GT'23 (GT2 if I'm not wrong in USA)

Ops. Just discovered that my version (OTA updated) on 8 Nov is 230919 - and the one mentioned on the site is 231102 , so may be soon there will be other update and crossing fingers that it can bring it.

Updated mine today. The new colour scheme at night is pretty cool :)

Took one for the team for You all and Used a VPN to grab the European update for my G70. It went through the install completely, then on reboot it flashed a message for 1 second saying the update was incompatible with a missing hardware error. restarted the car to try and get the error to come back and it reverted to the previous version. Proceeded to update to the latest version with the USA download and all is well. Added Genesis pay and all the other stuff but no wireless as expected.
So can I install the g70s infotainment center on my 23 stinger? I hate the purple

I mean maybe, I doubt it will work though and your UVO will probably not work. Let me know if you decide to try it though cuz im the opposite. I hate the boring bronze and miss the purple of my stinger lol

So, I tried this - using powerAmp and a tone generator. I played around with the tone generator from 40 Hz down to 10 Hz (just briefly) and got pretty strong sounds / vibrations at every frequency. I thought I set powerAmp back to default, but after doing the tone generator, I find I had WAY more bass than before. To the point that I had to adjust the "tone setting" in the car and lower the bass boost (I had it at +2 or +3, backed it off to +1 or 0) because I was getting SO MUCH bass.

I'm pretty sure I didn't quite reset powerAmp properly, because it seems to be from phone playback, not as much with radio. So yeah, I definitely got response below 40 Hz.

Throwing this out here, because I saw someone post something on facebook, but it's hit or miss to have a discussion on something like this more than a day or two after the original post..

Does Carlinkit 3.0 provide a separate Android Auto environment? That is, could I install jb4 / ECS10 onto the Carlinkit and then bring that up to do logging / adjust settings WITHOUT needing a separate phone? I believe they linked to carlinkit 3.0 magicbox?

Did somebody upgrades his navigation to the latest software (EU) to check if wireless AA / CP is working? I'm still waiting OTA update, but if it didn't come soon - will try with USB.

Urobil som aktualizáciu EU (2019 3,3 GT) Myslím, že bezdrôtové pripojenie nefunguje. Použitie bezdrôtového adaptéra AA wireless - funguje perfektne

I did the update but there is no change in terms of wireless CP. It's probably because I have a 2019. Maybe it only works on face lifted Stingers. What year is yours?

So after few days (if I'm not wrong) info on update.kia.com was changed that only newer navigation system (ccNC - used in EV9) will support wireless phone connection - so unfortunately - I don't expect this to be announced for Stinger.

That's the thing - my car doesn't have a SD card reader bc it's not the navigation equipped model. it seems like @vipeboy2000 was able to do it to his GT (which as far as I know only comes in non-navigation configuration) so I was wondering how he did it
Any luck figuring out how to update?

So, I've got a 2019 GT II. <50K Mi. Concern with GPS/NAV. I plug in a destination and the map is displayed. I start driving and then suddenly the cursor has darts off towards infinity in search of the end of the universe. Would a simple update to the NAV fix this? If so, is it easy to do myself or go through the dealer?

Does the cursor do any "darting" while not navigating?
