Either does my 2019 GT Limited. I’ve inadvertently left the passenger window down a few times and always wonder “how is that possible”! Shouldn’t the car tell me I’m about to make a boneheaded move?

its funny because the car tells you that you've left the sunroof cracked when you turn the car off. but doesnt tell you about a window left cracked. sucks because it could have either rained in the car or someone broke into the car. weird on kia that they'd do the sunroof but not windows.

a handful of times, I've washed my car with the back windows 'cracked' open in the summer for ventilation. this necessitates wiping down of the inside glass and door cards, armrests, etc. you'd think that during the wash I'd notice that the windows are not all the way up. but cracked an inch or less doesn't attract your eye because of the window seal filling the gap. but not enough to stop water ingress obviously. a 'window not up' warning would definitely save me on those occasions.

So I ran over something big this morning. Thought I really f&*%ed up my car. I was looking under the hood to see if I could see any damage. I noticed these 2 openings that I never noticed before. Next to the the 2 large screws, one's a circle, the other a rectangle. You can literally look through them, they're open to the wheel well.


Shouldn't those holes be covered? Seems like a really easy way to introduce salt and corrosion into the engine bay.

they are very small. and they are well inside of the tire, so no real chance of getting moisture flipped at them. I think we're fine. my car is over five years old and there isn't a spot of dried anything, anywhere near those holes. in your pic it looks like you've used water in there. do you spray your engineroom down or what?

Never sprayed the engine down but it could be from the undercarriage wash at the car wash. Sprays up underneath the car as you drive over.

I just find it odd that I've never noticed them until today, 3 years into ownership lol.

Another oddity...........

What's up with all the holes in the engine bay? Was in the process of cleaning up the engine bay and I noticed all these holes. Why make holes for screws and not fill them?

If you unplug your GPS antenna both the in car nav and Android auto lose GPS capabilities. They still put you on a map and show you moving, but after 2 days its about 10km wrong. Interesting Android auto and the factory nav are about 5km apart.

Here’s an interesting one. Yesterday like almost days I get in the car, clip my little dog into his seat beside me. His seat is elevated 2-4 inches above the passenger seat. I was off to the Pacemaker clinic and wanted my I-pad to amuse myself while waiting. Battery was very low so I plugged it in to the USB for the drive and tossed it under Barney’s seat on the passenger seat. Fire up the Stinger, gave it a minute or two and start on my way. Not sure if I even got out of the underground and an alarm starts going off. WTF! No lights on on the dash…nothing. I get 3 blocks up the hill and hit a red so I put er in park shut er off wait a bit and start up again. Alarm stops, “hmmm wonder wtf that was about! About a block or two later alarm starts up again…WTF! This time I notice something flashing on the screen about passengers seat belt. Next red I reach over and buckle it up alarm stops. Oh and the passenger’s airbag is off the whole time. After my appointment I walk out of after 45 minutes of waiting wtf. I get back into the car undo passenger belt plug the I-pad back in but this time I don’t put it on the seat I put it beside the seat in the cavernous gap. No seat belt alarm! So the I-pad charging on the seat caused the seat belt alarm to go off. Interesting! There ya go that’s my discovery as of late. Funny thing the wife was telling me about 2 days prior something about the energy coming from devices when plugged in and I shouldn’t use it then. Pacemaker concerns I’d say. Loving wife and all.

Its not any energy coming off anything, its the weight of something being of the seat. It is very sensitive.

I set groceries and whatnot on the passenger seat all the time. never had the alarm sound.

it must be since I never did anything to lobotomize it. this is true in both Stingers, neither one squawks at me if I put a bag of groceries on the seat. mind you I never put anything heavy there, just eggs and bananas and such like fragile groceries. I've put my laptop in its case on the seat too and it is a lot more heavy that the light groceries. never heard a peep out of the seatbelt warning.

That would do it, if you turn it off, the warning goes nuts with weight in the seat as the car wants some kind of safety system on for the passenger.
