RaceChip unleashes true potential of the Kia Stinger GT (and future GTR)

The LAP3 chip is designed to be an all-things-to-all-engines kinda thing with much less technical talent, ability, and effort behind it, would be my quick take.

Interesting.

I'd like confirmation from Race Chip. I see they've been responding on other forums but not here. I wonder if they've forgotten about this post.

Also wondering if different octane fuels are recommended for different chips.

@RaceChip
From their installation manual there is no recommendations to change out any parts.
This is made for a stock car. Also it looks like the chip has multiple setting (i.e. 7 for the gts and gts black) in which you can tune to the type of fuel you are running. However i will be able to tell you more once i have the chip in hand.

Sounds good. Thanks.

I saw a response from racechip on another forum confirming stock plugs are good to go

This is a very good question. The short answer is: No. As a result of the installation of a RaceChip auxiliary control unit, you may lose the ability to make claims under any guarantee provided by the manufacturer of your vehicle with regard to the engine (and possibly other parts of the vehicle).

However, the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act strongly protects consumer rights. When accessorizing your vehicle with aftermarket parts, your warranty claim cannot be automatically denied, nor can your warranty be voided, if you install non-OEM parts in your vehicle. The burden is on the dealer to prove the aftermarket parts caused the failure.

Please be aware that our products are designed for maximum safety. In contrast to many other tuning technologies we do not remove or adapt any engine protection system implemented by the manufacturer. Furthermore, the RaceChip Engine Protection System is part our optimization software. This RaceChip engine protection is the first layer of protection, the OEM-systems are the second layer. E.g. getting Check Engine Lights (CEL) would be a sign that the OEM-system stepped in. Customers sometimes get them if installation goes wrong (e.g. you remove your RaceChip and forget to re-connect the stock plugs --> the ecu recognizes that something isn't right and throws CELs and you can't start your car).

RaceChip is an impermanent plug & play modification. You can easily remove it within a few minutes and your car is in stock condition again.
+1 on this. i had to fight my ny volvo dealership over my modifications done to my volvos using the magnusson warranty act. not that the mods were half-a##ed botch jobs, they were done with companies that specialized in that in europe.

Got my shipping notice today.:geek::geek:

I'm in too, just placed the order. 30 day return with no restocking fees? Hard to resist.

Should be some good information coming soon. Good luck everyone!

I expect a full write-up of unboxing, installation, driving, different modes, etc.! :)

That goes without saying, that is the minimum we expect :p

does anyobody no if these are shipped directly from Germany or somewhere in the us?

Yes, this product is also designed for car novices.
We have a very broad customer base from techies to unexperienced people that are not interested in technological details. No matter how sophisticated and complex our technology is, for the customer it must be convenient and easy to handle.
do you ship directly from Germany or from a us based distributor?

Question: If something were to go wrong with the car while Race Chip is installed, could you not just re-install the original ECU before bringing the car to the dealership, to avoid any potential warranty issues? I spoke to the service dept at my dealer and they said using a mod chip would void the warranty for any problems related to the ECU

I will be stocking the Race Chip product and I'm located in Florida. I will be available for 2-3 day shipping as soon as it's available to me...

That's awesome news, Sal.

Can you give us some insight on how the 30 day return works? Say someone is unsatisfied with it, will the return be handled/refunded by you or by the HQ in Germany?

I haven't figured that out yet. I'm taking things one step at a time and the first step is to have the ability to purchase the product. Once I can get that ball rolling and get a few headed to the U.S., I'll figure out what will work best. At this point I don't even have a clue how much it sells for. Communication is slow...
