Kia Stinger Navigation Map Update

On my machine, primary browser is firefox, secondary is opera, and tertiary is chrome.

On 11, chrome installed and works just fine. Define supported?
i tried installing chrome on my son's laptop, windows 11, and it doesnt work. i thought it wasnt supported.

"Why is my Chrome not working on Windows 11?

To fix Windows 11 Chrome not opening, try launching the browser with Run commands. Some users might need to disable certain utilities or startup programs to fix Chrome not opening in Windows 11. Deleting a user profile might also fix Google Chrome."

These sound like Windows 11 troubleshooting steps if you have a problem running Chrome. It may be a common upgrade issue, but you can get it running by following the steps or some other way. All major browsers should be able to run on windows 11.

When I installed chrome on 11/pro, it was business as usual. Didn't require any additional steps or troubleshooting parameters. I did specify an alternate cache location (ramdisk) in the start up command line. Also, i mklink'd a folder in the profile to a matching one on the ramdisk (blob_something or other). This keeps ssd wear/tear down while dumping all the temp files to the ramdisk (4gb on a box with 32gb ram).

are the nixie tubes still gone? no nixies, no update for me.

^^Thanks for the notification about the update.

Here's the US link Notice | Official Kia Navigation Update Website .

Same useless update as for .CA. Doesn't look there's anything even remotely useful this time around. Skipping.

No wireless AA.

the Motorola wireless AA dongle and an aftermarket wireless phone charger is the best money i've spent on the Stinger so far.
been working great - put phone on charger (it actually charges), and AA pops up, music starts

Sorry if this is covered somewhere, but does anyone have any experience with software updates on a 2023 GT2? It has the tube radio, and the model number is CKCS.S5BMC.US. There's an update button on the software info screen in the car but it doesn't seem to do anything. There's nothing on Kia's update page for the 2023's or that model number. Software version is CK_PE_23.USA.S5W_M.V001.001.220317
I'm on the same boat here but the 2022 update do not work on the 2023 Stinger so we have to wit. Also I believe the 2023 could be get the update via Ota as some dealer rep told me. The car just came up so Kia haven't make any update available yet for this car, maybe in a few months.

I would be SHOCKED shocked if there was any OTA update for the nav/audio.

It's somewhere between 32 and 64 GB for the 2022.23 cars

I will be shocked too but never know
The new October update does have an option for 2023 when I looked at it. Although I'm traveling in Sweden right now so it may not be available in US yet. I'll have to check when I get home.

No wireless AA.

It's good to have new roads, speed limits, etc. I was in Atlanta recently and avoided a road because it was marked toll in my antiquated family hauler, but turns out it wasn't a toll road anymore. The other car beat us by half hour.

Wireless AA is a hardware limitation in most of our vehicles. I think only a few markets got wifi chipsets in their radios and there's no guarantee they can even broadcast.

There actually IS an update available for the 2023. Here's the list of vehicles applicable to be updated. Also, don't hold your breath for OTA updates, you'll probably die before it happens.

Roads haven't changed any here in years. Speed limits? What are those. If im going somewhere far and unfamiliar, I'll review google maps first. I might even make my own custom route on the garmin and follow that instead. Btw, garmin puts out updates 3x/year.

I really do wish they'd add some useful features, like the manual day/night option which was present when I bought the car but is now gone.

Re wireless AA, I recall reading a thread about that on here. Someone dug deep into the firmware to determine which SOC the infotainment was using. The one identified was specced to offer both lte and wifi capability.

What is this about?

What was the original feature?

^^I could manually select day/night mode for the nav display. Can't do that now.
