Contemplating Trading in the Stinger for an EV

As I said...politics aside.
Unfortunately, some will take every opportunity to make anything political. Thanks for the insight. Regardless of how much people stomp their feet, EVs are going to be serious consideration for most people in the next decade. Your comparison of the Mustang Mach-E and Stinger was interesting and thorough.

if i was rich, that top tier kia ev6 in black would be in my driveway. of course keep the stinger. but those look so good i think. my neighbor has one, sounds like some sort of spaceship driving down the road. seems like we'd never get rid of fossil fuels; isnt it kinda trading one bad thing for the environment for the other? plus like they'll try and get rid of guns eventually but you can never really get rid guns, you can never really get rid of gas powered cars. i think it makes sense for things like lawn mowers and blowers to and weed eaters, small shit like that, to be lithium battery or whatever the hell it is. but, shoot, i heard if you ever have to replace a ev battery its thousands of dollars. i mean those cars already cost more than our stingers, right..

Oh, I know; my FB wall is smeared with the feces of everyone's political ravings. I wasn't trying to feed the fire, so to speak (even though it doesn't take much to do so). I was, as you pointed out, trying point out my experience with both my car and my wife's. Anyone can do with that information what they will. :)

This is something few people realize. I think almost every source of energy does affect the environment in one way or another. The question is whether or not the source of power/energy can be mitigated best, and there is no one-size-fits-all solution.

Pick your poison. Mine just happens to be a Stinger :D

The power the government is selling was stolen from you!! Learn your own history and you will never say such a thing as "no free market". Step by step they are enforcing more and more regulations that take more and more control from you for your own life in the name of saving you from yourself. And when it fails, they are saying, it happened because they didn't have enough power, and they need more, while selling what they can to the highest bidder.
I didn't say "No Free Market", I said "There is no such thing as a free Market". A free Market is one that runs without interference, and without manipulation. It does not exist

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Problem is everything has its roots in our political structure. They are the fuel that feeds the fire . Only way they can forward their agenda.

But the problem also is that people active look to make things political. Life is far to short to always look at life that way. One could probably argue that the government wanted us off land lines so the could more easily track us with cell phones, and fight that fight.
Enjoy life....for the most part in the western world, we are very fortunate to buy what we like, move where we want to, vacation where we want to. Regardless of why...electric cars are coming. Look at the investment dollars every automaker has put into EVs, and how many have stopped development of ICE. This change will not happen overnight, but it is coming to some extent.

Unfortunately it was political agenda that pushed EV's in to the face of consumers by Forcing manufacturers to move in that direction. Sometimes you got to light the under the manufacturers ass to get them to do anything. Otherwise they will continue down the same path thinking only of profits for stock holders.

The use of Climate Change to move us in that direction is absolutely politically motivated. There is so much more we could do for the environment that would make an impact even with ICE vehicles. Do we need anything more than a 4 banger, why are average Joe's and Jane's driving trucks when they don't need them. Why don't they mandate all ICE have to be Hybrid's moving forward? How about stop start in every vehicle? Hybrid's will not take over ICE vehicles on the road any time. Mean while people will hold onto their old head guzzler longer because the price of EV is out of their reach.

It did exist. The way it dissapeared was the people gave the power to make free market alive, to politicians, who promised to make life easier, natural forgetting, they are the only once to make their life happier. And the only way to bring it back to life is, take the power away from them and give it back where it belongs. People. What was so unique about USA, it was the only country where the power goes from the bottom to the top. So, as far as EV cars, there is no way to say if it better than IC cars, because the very existence of ev cars in today's world is result of political agendas. Wich kind of implying, that it would never fly in real world. (But that is debatable).

The reason everything is about politics is because politicians have more and more power to regulate your life. And guess what. It will become nore and more political, because, the way it is going, they will want to regulate even more.( because it is financially very profitable). And that's why, your strategy about enjoying life and be thankful for western world is very naive and shortsighted. I mean it's ok if you don't have kids and don't plan on having any. I just don't want mine to enjoy eating bugs and be thankful for the western world that let them take shower once a week. In Germany (part if the western world), some political genius is already promoting wiping with wet rag, instead of taking shower. I am sure German people are thankful for that. Or Switzerland people, who risk paying huge fines, or even going to jail for up 3 years (that is still not 100% guaranteed), if they heat their houses more than 19°celcius (~66°farenheit), this winter.

You live in a fantasy world.

"Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely"

It will never change.

Tell me something i don't know. Like i sad. Learn the history. It is not a fantasy. This country was built with understanding on how dangerous it was to concentrate the power with federal government. Learn, or live your nightmare world.

Well I do have children and I have no fears of them eating bugs...unless they want to. They will economically out perform me, as I did my parents. I am not naive and not going to live in fear that the sky is falling because of some cherry picked examples of what MIGHT happen. I can honestly say that outside of obvious finances, I never feel restricted in my day to day life. Worrying about the end of freedom from some coordinated global government plan is just as extreme and pointless to have dictate your life as it is to feel that we will run out of food or drinking water due to climate change...extremists on both sides are.....well extremists. This is a car forum, we should be enjoying our ability to have "nice things". They aren't going away...they might change, but there will always be enthusiast cars because there will always be a market. I am sure that people lament the loss of big block muscle cars, but I don't. Progress has made care safer, faster and loaded with features that were in luxury cars a decade ago.

Never say never. I doubt your grandparents (depending on how old you are) could imagine that their grandchildren would be paying number and amount of taxes, you do today.

They paid far less tax than I do, but they were essentially indentured servants who worked for little more than slave wages and couldn't imagine the material wealth we have today. With extremely low wages then, even 5% tax leaves you with very little. Things are not as bad as we can think they are. Listening to people who lived through wars or the Great Depression or even the "good old days" makes me realize, we complain way too much at times.

I am not saying world is coming to the end. But i believe we need to be aware of the bigger picture. I know, since i am first generation American citizen in my family, it is hard for me to get full picture. But i see a lot of similarities in this country happening, that happened in the country i run away from. So that might be the reason i am so critical of the government. I know first hand, how hard they can f...k you. And i am not talking about higher taxes or stricter emission policies.

Well our histories are similar then. I am first generation here as well, and my parents told me stories of what they went through and how they were treated and not by the government, landowners and employers. Yet they persevered, worked hard, stayed positive and moved ahead. If we refuse to try and stay positive, then whoever we see as our perceived enemies have won. Enjoy your Stinger!!

this.

Well I just traded my 2019 Stinger for a 2023 Genesis GV60 BEV. Loved the Stinger, but I don't keep cars for more than 4 years and decided electric was the way to go. The GV60 is fantastic, it has a very luxurious interior & is really quiet and smooth. It's also fast, with 429hp and 485 available for 10sec in boost mode. That will get it from 0-60 in 3.6 sec. I love the convenience of plugging it in to recharge overnight and since I rarely go on long trips, it works well for me.

Enjoy your new ride. Took a ride in a Tesla the other day. Was thoroughly unimpressed. So lifeless. Sure they are quite but that allows you to hear all the road noise and more. How's is the GV60 for that?
