Kia Stinger Navigation Map Update

Mine keeps asking to reconfigure "kia connect". An email comes with a link to continue with registration. The link goes to my account, nothing there and it looks normal as it is fine.
Operating the system though generates this pop up screen over and over again! (22 GT Elite, 10" screen)

Have you tried deleting the vehicle from the app then running the first setup again in the car Kia connect to generate the code and add it to your account again?

Don't accidently turn on the stereo when updating. I did and it got stuck on a Spanish language station in-between frequencies at an uncomfortable volume. I couldn't turn it off, turn the volume down, or make any adjustments. About thirty minutes later it finished but wow, that was an experience.

Just want to add my experience. I used the updater software, entered in my model, and it downloaded and formatted the drive for me. Plugged it in to the USB port and it asked me if I wanted to update in background, now, or when ignition is off. I chose ignition off and when I got to work I shut it off like normal. Came back and it showed me update was completed and a qr code to see new features. Pretty awesome and I was not expecting it to work. This was on a 22 GT2.

Same easy experience for me. I actually downloaded mine onto a 64GB micro SD card using an SD card adapter. Brought that to work and transferred all the files to my desktop then to a 64GB USB thumb drive. Started car, plugged USB thumb drive in and chose to download when ignition was off. Turned car off and left thumb drive installed. Got a notification about an hour later from the KIA Access app that the update was successful. Way easier than when I updated in November.

^^That's pretty cool it allows that to happen in the background with the car off. Probably a number of checks are made before allowing that to proceed.. ie make sure battery is at full charge.

No more having to install update while the car is on/running or connected to a battery charger.

Do share your thoughts on the update. AA full screen now? Wireless?

Since people are posting pics of the nixie tubes and the new update, I figured I'd show off the old-school media screens. I updated once or twice, but this is more or less what the 2018 shipped with.
Does anybody know if the USB media screen changed much? I love having my large album cover and band info. What does that look like now?

Seems like the background update is new as of th April update.

I still don't have full screen Android Auto.

Same here, but I also checked my AA version on my phone and I believe (not sure, just going by the date from an article about the GUI change in AA) the version I have on my phone is still older than the version needed to run the new(er) AA GUI. So perhaps it'll show up after an AA update.

AA full screen needs to have the resolution set within AA developer options. I have AA split screen after update with two different AA apps. I found if I turn on split screen in the Kia settings it brings back the AA icon on the right side and does single app AA. If that makes sense. So I just left the split screen off in the settings to have two different AA apps running.

I didn't change the resolution in the developer settings and turned off split screen. That's how I'm getting two AA apps split screen.

When you tap on Video Resolution it should give you several options. The top selection which should be the default is to "Allow car and phone to negotiate". To do full screen set to "Allow up to 1280x720 or 720x1280"
