Does anyone know if they fixed the wide screen issue with the latest update? I was reading on an Android Auto website that with the latest nav update the larger screens will now allow full screen android auto instead of a smaller box.

I didn't even like the look of the tubes a whole hell of a lot, but the new radio format looks like low effort garbage. They could have literally just removed the virtual tubes from the display and kept a decent looking font for the big current channel digits and it would have looked way better.
Full screen Android Auto does work but you have to enable developer settings inside the Android Auto app and enable then check the 1280x720 resolution option setting.
^^Whoa! This is the standard AA without any dongles or anything?
What phone? Also what system software? I have the latest AA on my 7T and s9+, 1280x720 enabled in dev mode on both but still get the 2/3 screen. My system software is from April 2021.
I am in Canada and have a 2018 GT Limited (GT 2 equivalent). Notice in the link you provided that the Stinger in NOT listed at all and I confirmed by downloading the update app and going through it all until the download step, it comes back saying there is no update available for my vehicle!
Has any Canadian owner succeeded in updating their NAV?
I am still running the original that came with the car and my dealer told me that this April update will fix my problem where the sound system changes to all sound to the back speakers only after making phone calls. (Have had this issue since I got the car in Dec 2017 so am really looking forward to a fix at last!)

I will not be updating if they got rid of the tubes. One of my favorite features of the infotainment. They are referring to the image of the vacuum tubes in amplifiers. Anyone have an image of what is there now?
