• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Kia Stinger - Australia discussions (pre-release)

I have received virtually no firm information about anything including delivery dates.

I am surprised they have left it this late. I really am. Maybe the release has been delayed...

Yeah, unfortunately with these types of information embargoes it usually means either a delay in release or an unexpectedly high price tag. It's at the point now where the alarm bells are ringing, that's for sure

From a recent post elsewhere on the forum regarding information for the Austrian launch, I see the towing specifications are quite poor.

Braked Trailer 1500kg
Towball 75kg

I believe the Optima GT is 1400kg and 80kg respectively.

Wont be towing much with that and its enough for me to have to look elsewhere.

They aren't on the water yet. The cars coming to nz are going on the same ship as the Australian cars. This leaves Korea on the 1st of September and gets to nz on the 20th, so the east coast of Auz around the 13th of September.[/QUOTE

I have been tracking this movement aswell. Do you know the name of this ship?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Nah bro, but it wouldn't be hard to find out by doing a bit of googling on the shipping lines and schedules.

I'm as frustrated as you guys ... but only becasue it is seemingly taking so friggin long! But it really isn't. It's only August. Tracking ships might be a bit OTT though.
I'm quietly confident that they (Kia Australia) will deliver this at the right price (at least for pre-order'ers) and on time too.
So just give me my final sales contract, they'll get my money and I'll take those hotly anticipated keys and be on my way. Thanks.

It is surprisingly hard. Ive got ships mapped out and I think its an anti-pirate thing lol

I'm with you app master. I believe it will all be fine. We are all just a bit anxious about the lac of info coming our way.

Its the Price disclosure part that has me not worried but intrigued. Agree with you re shipping info and all- its still a while and the cars will get there when they do. But the price- its just unusual for it to take so long for the price of a car to be released. Even if they were targeting an end of Sept release, I would have thought they would have released the price by now.

I also think Kia will be sensible but I just am not sure what the delay is.

My belief is they may still be trying to firm actual factory numbers available to them for the short term, 6-12 months, so buyers are informed from day dot. If it is priced just right, they will be more overwhelmed than they have been already with pre-interest for this car. So with supply then being the main issue they do not want to be letting down any potential customers with "unexpected" long waiting lists...although i think it will be worth it ;)

Hi All,

as I am writing to you now, I am on Hold with Kia Australia.
I thought I let them know How frustrating it is waiting for 1. Price, 2. schedule delivery.

I also mentioned about this forum and pointed out how nearly all odfus are getting frustrated maybe but unsure about getting one or nor (the STINGER).

I told them that Kia is the only one who has not come up (delay) with a pricing for a NEW car, compared to others.

.....Guess what, I was told in a polite way "we can't give you any more information than what I already know. I am also not allowed to disclose any further information".

I suppose the last staement means we are close to getting a price and a scheuduled delivery time. Maybe 1st September!!!, my guess....

Is it true that Aussie cars will be fitted with Continental tyres and not Michelin ? If so why would we get a different tyre ? .
I'm kinda partial to Michelins and have never used Continentals .

I will try and find the article but I thought the AWD had michelins and the RWD are conti. Either way, I have continentals on my A3 sedan and they are bloody awesome, especially in the wet. Have seen many reviews where they are constantly judged as the best wet handling tyres so no loss IMO.

Just got a call from my dealer stating $67000 drive away still no info on if that's with the added pipes so I'm out

I'll be honest, I'm both relieved and disappointed.
They (Kia Aus) have delivered on a sub $50 k V6 Stinger, so the "full" performance sedan at a good starting price.
However because I've pre-ordered a "GT" I am less than impressed (at $11k more!) but I am yet to actually hear from my dealer. So with baited breath I hope they offer a reasonably good deal to get me across the line?
