Installed the front tow hook license plate and the tdi grille badge. Loving the look so far. Front sensors are going off with the new tow hook license plate installed. Anyway to disable the front sensors or would I have to drill new holes in the license plate to shift it over to the left ? Thanks stinger nation
Can't they just call you when they have the parts and let you drive the car in the interim?? Seems ridiculous to be without a car for 2 months for mostly cosmetic damage.
It was actually not bad either. One of the ears on the mounting bracket was bent slightly from nominal. Since it is aluminum, a pair of large channel locks let me get leverage to bend it back into position.
The part I had to figure out was how to get the clamp "released" (for lack of a better term) on the driver side charge pipe. It has a large spring clip you need to release and then the pipe just pops out.
Install after that was a piece of cake.
That clip was a bitch as I really didn't understand how it worked. Once you know it's easy though. I almost damaged mine getting it off, only to realize you are supposed to re-use it. thankfully I was able to get it back in place. Just be careful when taking it off.

the pinchweld runs down the entire rocker panel and the blocks are wide enough to not damage the car despite not being on the reinforced jack areas. I can't use the longer quick jack on my other cars hence my reason for using the shorter version.
Nah...she knows im an idiot. The things ive said, just for the funny, to her. She just shakes her head and walks away. So im assuming you've not held a cucumber up and hollered across the store "this one too big for you?" For example
Tinting the rear taillights , adding the red accents in the front hood and bottom portion of the front bumper and vinyl wrapping the edge of both front headlights glossy black - all this Saturday. Dark Vader for sure lol
Removed the GT-Line and AWD emblems from the trunk. Was way easier than I thought it would be.
Heat is your friend. I used a heat gun to make them warm (almost hot) to the touch and was able to “cut” the clue with fishing line which removed the emblems. Once that was done, I applied more heat to the left over glue and it pulled right off the paint leaving very minimal adhesive left. Then hit it with goo gone on a microfiber towel. Once that was done a little hand polish with Maguires 205 finished off with some quick wax. Turned out good and only took a 1/2 hour.
Can’t wait for the weather to turn here in NY so I can do a proper wash and paint correction before coating with Ammo Reflex Pro

But careful with heatgun. Its really not needed, just tape off emblem, spray shit amount of goo gone and fishing wire and gently sigsaw back and forth against your body. 100% safer.

Definitely have to be careful with a heat gun, that’s for sure.
For what it’s worth, my background is in paint and body, I’m familiar with working with metal and plastic body panels. Use heat at your own risk, it doesn’t take much to warp or overheat plastic.
