Seeing if anyone has had any experience with this before I take it to the dealer.

Oil pressure light comes on while idling, under 800 RPM it will come on and go off once I go over 800 RPM.

No CEL, oil is at Full mark on stick, oil changed 2k miles ago with 5w-30, at 61k miles.

Wow that doesn't sound good.
Are you sure it's not a 0w16 oil in there?

Most probably it is the Oil Pressure Sensor, it happened to other Stinger owners.

The location of the sensor is under the intake manifold in the "V" of the engine block, which is a difficult place to reach and replace.

This just happened to me took it into the dealer to check. Be prepared for this. It's not covered under warranty and the part is t Available anywhere in the US. So I was told. I also got hit with parts and labor of over 5grand wtf. Technician said my pressure was fine but a failing sensor.

^^Why isn't this covered under warranty? This sensor is part of the drivetrain no?

This post makes no sense

Of course the pressure switch is covered under warranty - unless your warranty is expired (over the mileage).

Part availability is a valid concern - they can't replace what they don't have.

Parts and labour over 5 grand? What are you on about?

Glad your actual oil pressure is fine - that's the critical part.

I will explain more when I pick uo the vehicle on Tuesday. The dealer charge just to diagnose and check the oil pressure sensor will be about 1000 dollars. To replace the part and after all seals and gaskets they quoted me 5grand. I was like WTF. Now my drive train warranty expires at 100k. I'm currently 98k. But what they told me it's the oil pressure sensor is not covered. I will post once I get the breakdown. IM a littlebshocked right now.

Dude, you're being taken advantage of.

The price here in SA for the sensor is ranging between (40 ~ 90$), depends on where you are buying it "KIA dealership, Hyundai dealership, or independent spare parts distributors".

Yes installation requires some work but it should not be in thousands!

Sweet jebus....

Good thing it will be entirely covered by warranty.

I have noticed that the service/repair manual of the Stinger requires in certain cases to do unnecessary steps, example, changing the rear sway bar as per the manual you have to remove propeller shaft, the muffler and loosening the subframe bolts!!!

I changed the sway bar myself and skipped these steps.

Yes, i have seen that sensor was changed on another lambda engines without removing engine itself. It is placed behind some coolant pipe in between of the engine heads, according to manual. It seems like it is possible to get it from there using some kind of pliers. Actually i get here to investigate little bit about Stinger since i considered to buy one, and i'm really confused about how difficult it is to replace some parts which might have to require replacement if i stay with this car for more than 5 years. For example replacement of an AC compressor requires to remove front subframe.
