JB4 Map 3 log check

I think sometimes it is just noise from the knock sensor and as long as they are not consistent.

Here’s a map 3 log in running e30 mix e85 + 91 plus octane booster for a octane of 94. It looks pretty consistent.

looks good but short runs and long log.

Here’s two pulls on map 4. Was trying some 0-60 sport mode with traction and stability off got 4.9s had some wheel slippage not too much drama tho. Still have the stock continental tires on my g80 plan on upgrading to pilot sports once they degrade. Not bad for a 4600+ lb car lol

Timing looks good!

You need to do a WOT run through a few gears.

Okay sounds good. Not many stretches of road that’s why I’ve been doing just 0-60. I’ll try this afternoon for some freeway pulls. Hopefully there will not be much traffic.

What AWDGT2 has said is all great advice.

I have a Stinger running just the JB4, AP intercooler, VT snorkels, stock airbox, and E28(from 93 Octane). I am able to run Map3 very well with this setup even with some higher IATs.

The biggest concern I have in your data is that you are pulling timing even in Map1 with really low IATs(77 degrees F). That alone is really bad. I pull almost no timing at all even with 107 degrees F IATs in Map3 with EWG settings.

The only thing I can think of is to reset your ECU. I was seeing significant timing corrections before and then I reset my ECU and they all went to basically zero. Try that and then drive around a bit before you do your first pulls. If that doesn't work then WMI is probably going to be the only thing that helps.
Can you take a look at my logs. First time running ethanol on map 3. Filled up about 10 minutes before I did the log. Thanks

Timing is still all over the place. Back it down to map 2 and log again. Ignition 2-6 need to be between 0 and say 2 worst case. 3.8's and 4.5's are not good. Again points to octane is not high enough, or plugs are not gapped properly or both.

Timing is being pulled might take a little more driving for the ecu to adapt to the fuel mix. Might try a 40-80 mph pull wot. And then another right after and see if timing changes. When you first put in fuel take a little bit for the ecu to adapt to the fuel being introduced

Is it really bad? How long does it usually take for the car to adapt to the fuel mix? Should I do logs on map 2 first.

Normal a good long pull will do it. 40-80 mph wot. What was your mix 91 or 93 and how many gallons of gas and how many of E85

Here’s a map 3 pull I did yesterday retry much zeros across the board except for cylinder 4 gets a consistent 0.8 Could that mean possibly a slightly incorrect spark plug gap?

Could mean a slight incorrect gap but so minor I wouldn’t worry about it

5 gallons of e85 and rest of the tank with 91

Sorry to bother you again. Took this log 40 to 80 on map 3. I installed the ewg wires right before. Hopefully it’s just the heat. The ethanol mix says e19. I know that’s estimated but can that be the problem?

Hard to say. Could be bad gas. Have you done a ecu reset where you disconnect the battery and reconnect after about 5 min

Not an expert, but learning as I go. I think your timing deviations are too high. I would suggest Map 2 based on your octane level. IAT's were high for sure, but I don't think that would pull timing. Maybe a bit more e85 would help with octane, but if you can't accurately measure the blend, it may be tough to dial it in. As others have said, gas marketed as E85 may be more like E60, etc., so even with 5 gallons you may not be at E30 overall. Hopefully a couple other folks will take a peak at the log and have some advice.
