What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

I hurt my baby... hit a truck tire on the interstate .. 30 min ago..
Damn sorry to hear. Damage doesn't seem too bad though I think they can put her back together right especially since it doesn't appear you had any suspension damage. Just make sure they actually replace the damaged panels instead of trying to repair them.

camera can spot the tire easier than we could in the car... at the time i saw it, at first i thought it was just a dark repair patch since this section of road is so rough... and by the time i realize it's a tire it's wayy too late as there were cars behind me and next to me to avoid it... got some lovely sparks tho. :cautious:

The "perfect storm" conditions were yours.:poop: I'm with the previous assessment: you'll gave a perfect car again, because nothing internal was damaged.

Fingers crossed!

What crappy luck!! Could have been worse I guess.

Oh gosh, I'm sorry, I literally cried when someone side swiped my little Honda Fit heh (Mind you it would have been totaled if I didn't have a connection at a body shop who knows how much I love my car)

That being said, it looks rough on the outside, but it seems minor! Stingers are mechanically very tough. We had a customer spin off into the snow bank on a rural road. Looked around, moved a big chunk of ice out of the way, and drove out of the bank (thanks to the AWD) and came here. Our mechanic took a thorough look, popped the side skirt back on, replaced a front clip, popped the rear bumper back in, and sent him on his way, charged him $50 heh. 0 issues other than a small scuff on the side skirt

Got back from my recall visit. unfortunately they didn't have the foresight to order the junction box before i got there.... On the brightside though, they fixed that annoying creak in the steering. As I expected it was an out of place rubber mount that they lubricated and put back into place.

She also got a quick wash

Usually a specialty recall part like that has to be ordered using the VIN of the car after inspection. Make the appointment look at it, and then order the part via the recall form using your VIN. If it's a more universal part that multiple cars share (like an airbag) my guess is they can allot a certain amount to dealerships

That's what they had to do with my Fit and the front drive shafts anyways. Still waiting for the parts to arrive. Went in to see "if I needed it" trust me, every second gen Fit does. Put the parts on order, call to get it back in

it's a silly process, and it wastes time. This is a recall not a service visit, they know what they needed and it's super cheap to boot. This didn't happen with the few recalls I had on my old WRX. Either way though this dealer is way better than the other one that just refuses to actually call back.

Yes it is ridiculous and obviously not a requirement as I and a few others on here who did not have to have an "inspection" before having it ordered. All I did was call and say I wanted to come in for the recall and had them order the part for my vin. I then went in 3 days layer, they had the part and had me out in under 90 min.

Oh damn, I missed this a long time ago, but I only got this sorted out over the last couple of weeks, so maybe good that I didn't reply until now.

I had one set of Whiteline front endlinks on until recently, they got really squeaky through the winter, I don't know if they were just defective or if something else was going on.

But I digress, they kindly sent another set for me to get fitted, and we wanted to be 100% sure they were properly installed, so we put it up on the hoist, swapped the endlinks, then got it on the alignment machine so that we were under load and could adjust. There doesn't seem to be a huge range of motion in the ball joints on the whitelines, you really can't install these solo in your garage by the instructions they send. Also worth noting that the nuts on the turnbuckle come loose pretty easily and need some loctite to keep them in place.

Once you've got them on an alignment machine, get one person in the car, and have them turn the car left, right, left, right, left, right, each time checking that you have a full range of motion and that the end link doesn't bind, make an adjustment, rinse and repeat, then loosen, add loctite to the nuts, and tighten them down again. If the ball joints had a larger range of motion I don't think this would be a problem, but it seems like they only just fit with the turnbuckle aligned just right.

Right now I'm not having any problems which is a huge relief.
Do you remember the model number of the endlinks you got for the front?

Mine are klc180-195 from khartunerz and they look a little short so im not tempted to install them just yet

I used my new cordless leaf blower to dry the car today. I bought it just to use on the car. It worked amazingly well. I never had to touch the car with a towel. Dried it completely with the blower. I wasn't really thinking about buying one, but it was only $89.99, so I thought, why not. Glad I did!

Leaf blower is so helpful.

My 18v cryobi blower just doesn't move enough air to dry my car. I usually whip out the corded blower which works much better

lol - Makita FTW!

I just bought an 18v blower for the same purpose. Haven't tried it yet, but it definitely moves a lot of air.

I've been using the blower for years, it's the best! Huskvarna! I often wondered if the intake would take in small particulates and then blast them on to the car though. Over-thinking perhaps.
