Carbon Hood Mega thread

It looks great. How is the panel gap?
Fit is good around the edges, had to shim one side up and the front dips in a bit too far. I am happy with how it lined up.

Bump, would love to see more pictures of peoples carbon fiber hoods.

@Peggy Arnos foretold this... A new Ark hood is out...

$1,709.10

21 lbs / 9.5 kg (Forged Carbon Hood Weight) vs 40.8 lbs / 18.5 kg (Stock Hood Weight)

I never understood what “forged” carbon fiber was until I saw this. Almost looks like granite.
@Tonkabob Sal can add this to the first post.

Recently installed my Strictly Business hood. Still working on the fitment. Almost seems as if the latch bar on the hood isn't long enough so it the hood does not line up with the front when latched

Ark Legato hood -- not fitting very well for me. I didn't pay any attention to fitment when the hood was installed, or a week later when the pins and hood struts were installed, so I don't know if was the pin installation that caused the misalignment or if it was like this right from the start. It wasn't until I had the edges wrapped that I noticed the front was depressed, and the sides are not flush. (I didn't do any of the installation myself). It's a bit hard to tell in the first photo, but the front of the hood is a good 3/8" lower than it should be..

That is quite common with the aftermarket carbon hoods. It seems to be very difficult to keep the contour of the hood uniform as the resin cures. My Seibon hood has the same issue with the front dipping in.

Any Canadians here with Seibon TS or Ark Legato hood? I want to know if it’s plausible to run this hood during our harsh winters with all the snow, rain and salt.

Has anyone matched any CF hood with the color of their car? Looking to possibly purchase a CF hood in the future (Seibon TS, Ark Legato, ...) Does it match 100%, fade overtime, cost to paint, stay flush? Any members in the NY, LI area with the Seibon TS, Ark Legato or hood similar to these two that I could meet? Stinger upcoming meets?
Also looking to add a spoiler (Type G), rear diffuser (M&S or Stingerhaus), springs (Eibach), maybe rims this summer - would like to see how these parts look in person.

Any problems during the winter? And were u charged import fees upon arrival in Canada?

Hood did not survive the winter, had to open it on a -40 day and the epoxy cracked all around the hood pins spidering half way up the hood.

I ordered it through an auto part importer in Edmonton who deals with Seibon so there was not extra fees.

Wow really? What’s happened to it since?

I still have it on the car. Planning to take it off this summer, strip the epoxy and try to redo it without wrecking the weave in the carbon

Am i the only one that went "hell no" to the -40? Much respect for dealing with those temps

Damn, other than that. How was it during winter and rainy weathers? I’m debating on a CF hood, but I’m hearing some bad things about them such as fading, flexing, fitment issues and now cracking. Lol

I feel the same. Problem is, I live in MN. We get those same temps :(

Adro is ~18lbs

26 lbs is really bad for a CF hood

Element 6 is 2000~2500 usd.
I’ve been looking everywhere for your hood that you had on your car, I’ve seen it once on another Korean stinger but I cannot find it anywhere, and I don’t want the forged carbon one… please help

Glad to be part of the forum but no I’m talking about this hood, I’ve seen it on only a couple stingers but they’re Korean. Been searching
I know a person with that hood here in Cali. Will let you know where he got it
