What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

Let her breath! Installed NGT Catless Primaries yesterday with the help of a friend. I have 50K on the Odo, and was really worried about the bolts snapping. I used good ol' WD40 and sprayed them a few times through the week last week, and no problems, bolts came right out without any issues at all. I have to say, you can really feel the difference with the open primaries. Freaking love it.

Just some pics I took during the install:

So no codes or anything like that pop up?

Nope, we installed O2 Sensor Spaces to prevent the codes. No issues with the sensors or the primaries so far.

So ya got the old dirty dish towel wash of your Stinger did ya. Not so lucky youo_O
There is a hand carwash next door that they must have an agreement with. I didn't realize the car was getting washed. Normally I am picky, but in this case I didn't mind because it got all of the salt off the car from winter...I was also the first car of the day, so hopefully the rag was clean. I am more concerned with the three small marks from the neighborhood cat resting on my warm hood at night.

Got the CF dash in ebay directly from korea no cheap mace in china. Easy install of boots or screws. So happy with the outcome. View attachment 56367
Nice! Love the look. I've been looking at that for a bit. I know you said easy but how entailed was the install?

Does the window have to come out to remove that black plastic piece that is under the door card? Also, how much noise reduction did it yield?

For the rear windows I did not completely remove the glass from the door, I just disconnected it from the black plastic piece and wedged it in the “UP” position out of the way (notice the sponge in the pic).

It may be possible to pull back the black piece with the glass still attached, but there’s not much room to work and the glass would be in the way. When I did the front doors it was NOT possible (glass is wider than the hole). It’s really simple, just one 10mm bolt behind a rubber plug, the only trick is to roll down the window about 80% until you can see the bolt head through the plug hole.

There’s two kinds of road noise;
1: Noise generated by your car’s tires, which comes up through the floor pan and wheelwells, and also gets transmitted through the suspension/body.
2: Exterior noises from adjacent vehicles.

Treating the doors does virtually nothing for the first type of noise, but does wonders for the second type. I literally cannot hear cars next to me except semi trucks (they’re so tall the noise comes through the glass, nothing can be done about that).

In theory it should also make the stereo sound better/cleaner by attenuating backwaves, but I don’t hear any difference while driving.

Literally was wipe panel with alcohol peel 3m back adhesive stripes and press firmly, literally silly easy. No bolts no screws.
Thanks!

a friend found me a white one in Arizona and bought it for me. few weeks ago i found a black one and bought it just because lol. found it at walmart.

I would be interested in seeing a picture. It’ll give me an idea how it will look on my CDN Atomic (bomb) Blue.
I am going to take more pictures when it's sunny. I think It will look even better. The color changes at different angles and I'm sure when the sun hits it will pop a little more. I really like it. For a few hours of my time and less than a hundred dollars it turned out really well.

Is that some kind of roof-mounted 360-degree camera?

Did that silver Mustang get lost? :-)

It is a GoPro 360 MAX camera, bought on Amazon for $350 I think. And yes on the Mustang... I think after I took off he just gave up, he knew there was no chance, LOL

Looking good Darrin!

To give an update on my Ark midpipes, Magnaflow catback & exhaust tips install this past Thursday, it has overall been good.

Two things that have been good:
1. The look and sound is great, it has a nice deep rumble to it, and I love the look of the akrapovic carbon fiber tips.
2. Over the weekend, and tracking with my Draggy app, I got to 60MPH in 4.37 seconds on a full tank of gas with temp around 50 degrees F. My previous best was 4.55 seconds, and that was with less than a gallon in the tank with temp around 45 degrees F. With the VT Big Mouths and this exhaust it definitely feels a bit quicker...at least my Draggy times show it.

Two things that aren't so good, one more than the other:
1. The far outer passenger side exhaust tip is rubbing a little on the plastic bumper cutout, even after using a dremel. Need to think of a way to stop that from happening.
2. Yesterday morning I accelerated out of a stop light, there was a loss of power then the check engine light came on. I got home and plugged in the OBD2 scanner and saw the code was P0234 (Engine Overboost Condition). The temp was around 20 degrees F when it happened. I had to work throughout the day, then started it back up in the evening and the check engine light was off. I went for a quick 15 minute drive, and she was back to normal, drove beautifully. Not sure what it was, maybe the wastegate was stuck? Bad sensor? Or do these cars just not like driving aggressive in cold weather?

I've heard of overboosting from installing aftermarket primary (catless) downpipes, but not from the midpipes and catback. I'm keeping an eye out and being cautious, hoping this doesn't happen again. And if it does, should I contact the dealer to have them check the wastegate sensor?
