2022 Kia Stinger Full America Info!!

That's my point, I feel like there's no way on earth I'd drop that much for tail lights. And good luck getting them for much cheaper. I've been eyeing the Korean led tails for awhile now.

Those are about 680. Which is way too much. I hate the stock US version tails so I may get the Korean ones because they kinda match the front turn signals with the grid pattern but at 680, that's still a shit ton of money imo for some tail lights.
I’m not looking for the entire tail lamp assembly I’m simply looking for two LED replacements for the standard incandescent back up lightbulbs probably about 40 bucks if I can find them somewhere it annoys me that Kia cannot have spent a couple of extra bucks to make standard LED reverse tail lamps for the revised Stinger

Sorry, was responding to the other guy. Led back up lights are cheap, I got mine from diode dynamics. Got em on sale for 20 something back around Christmas time.

Thank you very much do you like them they’re not too blue in color are they do they look like they might be OEM?

I don't have a pic but I got the cheaper, less brighter ones. Still better than the stock ugly bulb but not as bright as the better version.

Thanks again. The bulbs are listed as 6000 Kelvin how do they appear to you do they appear to blue or are they a bluish white?

Mostly white I believe, I'll have to take a pic sometime.

I’m pretty well versed in 12v electronics and sourcing components for much less than retail, and certainly less than what K8 will offer.
I’m not interested in the turn signals, for the 5 seconds they’re on, they don’t interest me. But full brake light is something I’d knock out over a weekend and heavy drinking.

I'm not sure what the issue is with the stock taillight assembly.

Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong but it doesn’t appear to be any different in the hatch and rear tail lights. If that’s the case, I’m down to see if I can figure out a retrofit solution for the full brake light for 2018 - 2021 Stingers. I don’t see if being difficult from an electrical perspective as long as the hatch part of the LED tail light aligns.
The taillight it actually fully redesigned. Instead if the two ovals on each side it’s a full LED bar that stretches across the whole back of the car

Yes, redesigned, but I don’t see any physical difference but I’m not certain. I’m less concerned about the electrical and more about the physical dimensions and design. The 2022+ still two ovals on each side with a light bar in the middle. If the physical aspects match up then the electrical can be worked out.

If the physical dimensions are any different then all bets are off.

Wow. Just saw a tutorial. You have to remove the entire tail lamp assembly to change out the reverse bulbs??
Yep, it's not hard to do though. Harder than it should be most certainly but not that difficult.

I prefer the current tails better than the 2022. Only thing I like is the sequential turn signals. But even I have to admit that having a full tail light panel that's not a 3rd brake light, nor anything else on the current car is an odd decision. Why not just have the 2 separate tails and leave the middle section trunk lid?

Any idea on when the 2022 GT-line will be available? Am I correct in understanding that the only ones showing up on lots so far are GT1 and 2 models?

Is there an aftermarket solution for the incandescent reverse back up light bulbs as seen on the 2022 Stinger? Looking to swap them out for high quality LEDs with a color temperature of no higher than 5000K I confirmed that the reverse lights in the refreshed 2022 Stinger are NOT LED.

yeah dude you can just swap them with LED bulbs. costs like $10. and you don't have to feel like a dick that the reflector housing isn't really meant for LEDs because they're basically never on.

it helps.

it's not as bad as it looks. maybe 15 minutes? and you'll only have to do it once.

Thanks man for your input I appreciate it maybe the rear LED lighting panel is a little easier to access on the 2022 stinger than the current 2021 model

You know it really freaking annoys me that both auto trader and CarGurus as the new 2020 to Kia stinger starting to flood into dealer lot but we can’t even get an official press release from Kia or the 2022 stinger listed on their website for a build and price option really disappointing

So I just have the 20 dollar leds, they make brighter ones. Not the best pic but you get the idea.
