3.3TT Kia Stinger Aftermarket Exhaust Information and Discussion

The MBRP, with tips, is very reasonable in the car. no drone and only a bit louder than stock. No issues whatsoever.

OUTSIDE the car, however, when you go anything more than 1/4 throttle, is loud. reverberates on ANYTHING. I used to look for underpasses and tunnels in my old cars so I could hear my modded exhausts. Not necessary with the MBRP, all I have to do is lower the windows. Might be a bit louder than what I was originally hoping for, but it's growing on me though. I rarely have to press the gas pedal that much anyhow.

the MBRP is definitely louder than the 1st gen quicksilver. I could barely tell the difference outside the car from stock. Only thing I did notice was interior drone, and lots of it. I didn't have tips at the time. If my tips had arrived in time, I probably would have stayed with that, but I sold and went back to stock and didn't even consider another exhaust until black friday rolled around.

New QS is supposed to be louder than the old, but looks like shipping has been a waiting game there too.

Appreciate the info! This just hyped me up. Getting my MBRP installed on Tuesday

Hi all,

I am leaning towards getting the R&D Thermal exhaust. I looks to be high quality and from all reports, little or no drone.
Can anyone who has it on their Stinger advise if they are they are happy.
Also if the pipes center properly with the factory exhaust tips .
Please advise

I don't have a full Varex system but we just did a custom catback with 2.5" pipes, used Varex valved universal mufflers and I think it sounds great. Additionally the price for the valved set all together was so good that a Jun BL / Kunstwerk exhaust would be x3 the price. The valves work great (even though there is almost never a need to close them) and I'm definetly satisfied with the small DIY project.
Could make the current set more loud too by removing the mid silencers and doing a custom X pipe but honestly do not see a need for it.
I do agree that the sound quality really is not comparable with the much more expensive full exhaust systems though, so if your budget can afford going for Jun BL or something else that is valved, I definetly would.View attachment 49764
Nice, what size rims and tires are you running on the back?

I was running Vossen VFS6 's, 20 inch, front ET 35 and rear ET 43 I think. Tires were 245/35 and 285/30 in the back. Absolutely perfect flush fit.

Thanks, and looked good! I was looking at the same size tire w 30 front and 40 offsets rear, do you think that will be pretty flush too? or maybe stick out a little?

Finally got my NGM Delta axleback installed. Running them with Ark downpipes, K&N intakes, tune, big mouths. I don't have a video yet, but, it's a big difference with sound increase. I can hear my turbos spooling like 80x more. Cold start is loud at initial start-up but after like 5 seconds it lowers down. Minimal drown after warm up. It's just turbo loud and wasn't expecting that...was expecting more of a growl type during WOT. I will try for a video and see how long I keep these on.

That is just from intake.

This thing sounds insane! Stock BOV?
Stock BOV. My air intakes didn't produce this sound before muffler install- heard my downpipes and oem exhaust during that time. Now it's turbo spinning after 3k RPM to 6k rpm. I mean, after I had my wife drive it and I heard it, definitely sounds good but may upgrade BOV if it helps bring the sound down.

Does anyone have MBRP paired with Jun BL downpipes?

Heres an updated sound clip

We should be friends.

Hi Guys.

I would like to know if anyone has installed the RCP exhaust in the links below or even got a quotation for the same !

It seems pretty much the best sounding to my ears and suite my requirements the best while the valves closed it's just slightly louder than stock and when valves are open I really like the tone.

I don't really want the loudest exhaust and I'm not after the hp gain that much.

I'm interested in this as cosmetic upgrade to enhance my daily drive and the hp gain will be just icing in the cake.

please let me know your thoughts.

I have this system on order. I will update after my install. The reviews I've read seem like a good fairly less drone type noise.
I'm removing a previously installed Borla system (former owner install). I will be offering up the Borla system when I change to the thermal system.

I have the Thermal exhaust. Sounds good and no drone! Build quality is too notch.

Trying to add a 18" resonator (maybe 12") to the muffler delete.
1793
17930 (large diameter)
Thoughts?

Just put the borla catback on my brand new 2021 stinger gt. It is WAY better than I thought. Took my buddy out in the snow and we were laughing at how good it sounds.
Did you do just the catback or also the tips?

How loud is it on a cold start? My concern is waking up everyone in the house when I have to leave at 6am for work. :/
