Remote start

Unfortunately, it would have had to have been a dealer added option or purchase a 3rd party remote start.

Do US owners have access to the UVO App?

Well, I acknowledge that Kia's web site sucks on details--but it does show that their UVO Plus and Ultimate packages include remote start.

Does the Stinger not support any of that?

Nope. I got fooled on that as well

Mine came with remote start have yet to use it.

You can add remote start module to your car if it did not come with it. I did this to my GT2.

My GT2 I bought used has remote start. The only thing that sucks is when you get in it shuts off and you have to restart. Never had a remote start that did that.

How do you make the gt2 remote start?

Your car may have the factory remote start already installed. To try to see if it does, from outside the car use your remote and press and release the lock button, then within a couple seconds press and release either the trunk release or the horn button (no long presses). After a couple seconds the lights should blink, mirrors will fold out, and the engine will start.

WOW that works! no need to carry the second remote start fob. Thanks for the info!

But still will probably not use. It still shuts off once the door is opened.
The car cools fast and heats fast. Now if I was still in AZ and it was sitting out in the 100 plus temps the pre cooling factor would be nice.

You should post that in things I did not know about the stinger or whatever that thread is called.

I got the drone mobile installed. I recommend it. Now my oem key works from short distance or from anywhere I can use my phone app. For an extra $175 the installer could have wired in my heated seats and steering wheel but I didn’t go for it. Having the car warm is good enough for me. I leave the heat/defrost on at night so that when I start my car in the morning those will be running. With the drone mobile setup there’s no antenna installed on the windshield either which is nice. Oh.. also the car does not shut off when I open the door.

Color me confused. Why is that a problem?
Just a comment, since using the remote to start it shuts off with the door opened, so doing it this other way it acts the same.
Not a problem for me, since I don't really care about remote start, the car just came with it.

It'd be nice if you didn't have to restart the car. Ford's factory remote start (at least the ones with push button start) allows you to get in and drive. You push the brake and hit the push start button and away you go. In addition, if there is automatic climate control, the car will set the cabin temperature dependent upon the outside temperature (i.e. A/C if hot outside).

I really wish the Stinger had the remote app available. I've wondered if there is a way to add a factory cell connection but haven't been able to find information on it.

Yes. Drone mobile. Phone app, don’t have to restart car.

Thanks! I just found another thread on that after I made my post (guess my prior search was terrible).

I went to the Drone Mobile website (How to Buy DroneMobile | DroneMobile) and the Stinger isn't one of the listed compatible models.

That being said, it looks like a lot of others have had this installed so the fact that the Stinger isn't on the website was/is confusing to me.

It’s installed I’m my stinger and it’s fantastic. Everything I wanted.. no extra fob, no distance restrictions, and car doesn’t shut off when door is opened. Only drawback is the whole thing installed, with three years of service, cost me right around 600 bucks! Had to have it tho

Did you install it yourself? Does it matter if you have the factory remote start already? I love the idea of no fob and just using my phone. If you had someone install it, I'll look around for some shops in my area of course.
