Remote start

Did you install it yourself? Does it matter if you have the factory remote start already? I love the idea of no fob and just using my phone. If you had someone install it, I'll look around for some shops in my area of course.
Had a shop do it .. most legit shops are drone mobile authorized dealers

I had mine installed by my local Best Buy. Caught the remote start on sale with install. Since UVO is non-existent in the US for these cars, had to get something that allowed me to check the status of my locks and to lock/unlock/start car from anywhere.

It'd be nice if you didn't have to restart the car.
I get that. I just don't understand why that would make one specifically decide that "I refuse to use the remote start because of that!"

It does sound petty, I'll admit. I was used to the Ford remote start before getting the Kia. I think the main reason I don't use it is because it's a 1-way remote start and I have to actually go look at the car to know if it is started or not. Where I work, by the time I get to a point I can see the car, I might as well just get in and go :)

One thing I didn't think about with remote start the adjusts itself to me, when I start up, would make it a bit harder to climb in!
