3.3TT So, I broke my engine

Some people’s thought process just lacks simple common sense. Daft f*ck I’d say:thumbdown:. Hope we don’t loss the tread because of one idiot.
Hey, I fess up, I'm the f*cking idiot ! My intentions were good, I thought this post would help other modders, people could learn from the author's experience. I went about it the wrong way, but I have admitted my error in judgement and tried to correct it.
Think what you will .....

I guess cncbilly missed your first apology post...He tried to jumped on me once for asking a question that was already answered i’m starting to think he is back on his menstrual cycle .....He’s cool after he drinks a couple glasses of cranberry juice

A few things to note, it takes less water than meth to make a change in AFR cause meth burns and water evaporates. Also, to clarify and add to what I was saying, when running pure meth you will need to add a lot of meth to reach a point were the ECU will not be able to compensate to manage the AFR and keep it on target. In his case the AFR was fine, I would draw it down to either sudden loss of meth (clogging, line air etc etc) which resulted in a quick lean scenario or just too much being burned down their and on the limit of things for a long time which resulted in failure.
Back on topic.....I wonder how quickly the ecu can react to such a massive change in afr though....learning a change over a period of time is one thing...a sudden rapid change in fuel requirement....I think the damage was done...but that's just an assumption on my end about the ecu"s capability.....so far the stingers ecu has proven to be miles more advanced then my megasquirt 2 for my 240sx.

So sorry to hear your experience. While turbos add HP, they will cause earlier engine failures. You situation seems something very strange, not typical at all!!! But eventually your engine would have blown. With soooo much boost, and not hearing about not reinforcing rods/journals --- the bottom end of the engine was going to give. It's old addage, that at some point there's no replacement for displacement to get the HP you desire!!

Get him some Cranberry juice stat !
hey, I have the guts to put my hand up and make a public apology to the OP and I'll take some heat.
But I don't think it's fair if people want to become my judge, jury and executioner !

Grand Sport for sure, wide body looks hot

@xot1
Ever get this thing back on the road?

Yes but I didn't keep the car.
After the engine brake in period, I did few test pulls and the car ran smooth, new engine block so.. that was to be expected.
But I think I lost a bit of my interest for the car, tuning it back wouldn't bring anything new, so I didn't put back the aftermarket parts, and kept it in stock form as a daily for few months then decided to sell it, and sold all parts.

I think I get it. I’ve been soured on problem vehicle projects.

I’m not going to push this car too far.

Now that months have passed and that I don't own the car anymore it doesn't matter if I say it, so here it is. Since many people asked how much it cost me.
I got the car fixed under warranty. I reverted all mods and brought the car in 100% stock. So I got the engine block replaced for free.
I reverted all mods, even stickers, cosmetic mods, the plugs, the ecu, everything that could even spark the idea that I may have done some mods to thay car (it may have been overkill but I didn't want to take any chance). If it was to happen again would they fix it for free again? Probably not. I also may have been lucky.

So you blew up a motor because you ran too much meth, and then reverted EVERYTHING to hide your mistake so kia would foot the bill. Sounds a lot like theft and complete dishonesty.

And you surely sound like an idiot

It's better that he share his experience as a cautionary tale to others modding their cars. This thread may save multiple engines down the line.

Everything I said is true lol. The motor didnt grenade becase it was faulty. It blew up because of what you did, if that wasnt the case you wouldn't of taken off everything, including your stickers LOL
