What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

Got some tints put on Sally today :cool:View attachment 3292

@Rufus, that's an excellent photo of a really sharp-looking Stinger! Curves on that babe are gorgeous from that angle. (She's not bad, she's just drawn that way...)

Your paint looks flawless - have you applied any protective coating, or was the car just perfectly clean when you shot the pic?

You should totally start a photo album in the Garage section of the forum. This pic and the one you took on your back road drive (Sammamish Valley?) deserve more eyeballs.

Appreciated! That shine would be from the Zurich exterior/interior protection package the finance mgr was hawking. He was asking $1495 for that one but got him down to $800.

I'm going to admit to being surprised at the result. I really wasn't expecting any difference, really. We got the pkg for the interior warranty--it even covers user error rips in the leather, and with a preschooler and a car seat...

But yeah. Going to have to admit that the stuff Consumer Reports always warns against has, at least in this case and for the time being, is performing as advertised :)

Has anyone noticed this nearly invisible cut line just below the doorsills? And yet pop at only certain angles? Boy am I truly enjoying this car. I have a feeling I'm not the only one :) It's fun getting to share this enjoyment with other like-minded people!

Nice! I have to wonder how she'd look with the dark windows combined with either black or carbon side vents. (Personally, I like the body-colored mirrors as-is.)

Hey @Rufus, I noticed your "Thrill of Victory" pic from when you picked up your Stinger. I recognize the guy handing you the key, so know where you bought it. Based on that, got a couple of questions:
1. Have you taken your Stinger in to get the infamous hatch rattle fixed yet?
2. If so, did you take it to the dealer that sold you the car?
3. If so, did their fix completely eliminate the rattle?

Thanks in advance for any insights you are willing to share.

Somehow our Stinger has dodged the rattle...so far. When I took it in this past Wednesday to get the Zurich treatment applied, I inquired if they'd heard about the SA. The tech said he had, but that not all that many had come his way. The service manager then said some had more rattles than others, but that one owner had the service performed and it solved it only for a short time before returning. He said he rode along with the owner and heard it at least 30 times. He seemed a bit perplexed why the fix didn't work, then made sure one of the other techs was made aware. Was this owner you by chance?

The owner in question wasn't me. I did stop in and talk to the service folks there a couple of weeks ago when the first SA was out. Was planning to go in to have it done, but when the second SA was issued I decided to hold off. Now I'm reading about breaking welds! :cautious:

Good to hear that your car doesn't have the rattle. :)

Umm...2nd S.A. and breaking welds?? What have I missed? Can I find that info on the forum?

It's discussed in this thread: Issue Number SA322 - Rattle Noise from Tailgate

Took it to Cars and Coffee in New Orleans this morning. Got there late but found some nice cars to hang out with.

Got a lot of questions about it and mainly positive comments. Heard a lot of “Oh that’s a Stinger” and “that’s a kia?”

It won't take long for the gearheads to wake up -- next time they're at a light and get to see that KIA badge on your butt.

Yes...awesome colour especially the shadow chrome.

Indeed! They're Great! We've used them before and have been very pleased with their handiwork and customer service. Going to be using them for a clearbra next...just have to wait a few more paychecks lol ;)

That’s great to hear! I decided to go with them over others based on the fact they’ve already done a few Stingers already. In fact, my original appointment was scheduled for yesterday, but they asked the move it to today. I dropped it off earlier and will pick up later this evening. I’ll report back with pics once we have decent weather.

My commute is short, 90% of my driving is on city roads and I don’t have to venture on the highways that often. So I think I may skip the clearbra, but will likely get ceramic coating during the summer.
