Wheel/size/offset and tire/size/profile...can be confusing.

No plans of lowering. I don’t want to screw with ride comfort.
Don't forget clearance, no kidding. :P That's what would have killed my car in fact, had it been lowered even just one inch.

Any help from you fine folks in this thread would be appreciated. I see @MerlintheMad is running the same width and offset as mine, just -1 on diameter, and keen designs kd07 is also that size for the front. Just nervous about the close proximity to the strut.

It’s pretty close to standard recommendations worst case scenario run 5mm spacers

Thanks @YOWStinger for the response. I know from reading through this thread that you were concerned about how close you were with your stinger as well. Is this just a matter of close proximity to the front suspension no matter what wheel you run? Even the stock gt 19x8’s only allow like a finger between wheel lip and strut.

Yeah, I’ve got 9” though, a little wider, I’m close to the strut and the tabs for the fender liner on the other side. 8.5 wont be an issue, the offset is high on those wheels but you’ll have space to just stick a 5mm spacer on if necessary, there are 8.5+40s that fit without spacers but it will come down to the shape of the spokes and whether you have the brembos or not.

I do have the brembos, which is why i wanted to test fit to make sure it cleared the brakes, which they do, was just worried that once tires are installed that the tire would then rub on the strut assembly and shred the tire.

For tyre sizes and trying to keep to stock-ish rolling diameters (to avoid Speedo inaccuracy, or to avoid issues with AWD and mismatched sizes), there are a number of tyre size calculators online that can help. The miata.net site has one that has been my go-to for years - it's basic but it works (There are others out there that graphically show the differences, etc).

Don’t go wider than 255 and you’ll be fine, I run 245 in the front but there are lots of examples of 255 out there

I was actually planning on running a 255/35 or 245/35 so this helps. I appreciate you helping with my paranoia on the situation.

3 years on the forum and my readings of posts recalls 245 is the maximum width for the front.

There are a few with 255/295 and one I know of with 265/305.
I think a popular square setup is 255s.

There are a number of us with 255 fronts.
I have a 255 square setup.

You’re quick! I was just editing to add the 255 square.

But you have spacers. Is that right? A mistaken "rotation" placing the 255 rears in front would rub (as happened as related on another thread today).

Consider offset in a square setup. The oem rear wheel is 46.5mm which is too deep for the front.
