Everything everyone says is true...Stinger sounds even better now with these pipes combined with my Borla exhaust (including less drone even though the Borla exhaust barely has any on its own IMO).

Accelerating just feels even better now too since the flow isn't as restricted with stock pipes.

Gas mileage looks better as well but we'll see over time.

It is louder when you rev high but it sounds even more awesome than just having the Borla (and the Borla is awesome by itself too). You can still drive at the speed limit without turning heads from the sound; if you need to make an evasive maneuver that requires passing power then it'll sound off but like I said it sounds fantastic to me. Haven't had it dyno'ed with this new downpipe and mid pipe and maybe this sounds crazy but I feel this car can now hang with the likes of the BMW M4 (yes apples and oranges but I'm still going to talk my talk).

How bad are the stock down pipes?

Do you have any pics of the 2 that we can compare?

I was told the stock pipes are just restrictive when you start doing the things I was doing like intake, exhaust, and chip. While it may have been all in my head I did feel like there was a tad of restrictiveness without the mid and down pipe upgrades when accelerating (ie the car felt like it wanted to be a little more free and fast). Don’t get me wrong the car was amazing with just the previous mods (JB4, intake, sparks, and Borla exhaust). Since I don’t mind it being louder and a tad quicker I’m very happy right now. Although I am still debating if the I get the pipes welded together or not to eliminate any minor leaking or air release which is expected with bolt-on mods I believe. You’re likely going to have to remind me about pics later this week as I’ll unfortunately be having emergency surgery today to have my appendix removed - life comes at you fast sometimes!

Did you install the high-flow cat mid pipe assembly yourself? Any problems taking off the turbo bolts heard stories about the studs being broken I have ordered the downpipes it should have them in a few weeks

My installer had never worked on a Stinger before and on top of that my pipes (sans the Borla exhaust) were used (bought them from someone here on the boards). My installer did mention the difficulty he may have with the turbo bolts before the install but he didn’t mention anything about them being a nuisance after the install (probably bc he had already charged me a little extra for the labor but he deserved it); he did say that the pipes were ill fitting so he did his best to clamp them as tight as possible but did struggle mightily despite his legit expertise. He recommended I go to a trusted muffler shop just to triple check his work. My muffler shop is ordering some better clamps as we speak and I’ll keep you posted on that. Apparently custom pipes even if purchased new just fit each car differently.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
did you ever have any issues with Cel light coming on? I have borla exhaust as well does it considerably increase the sound, I'm all about the loud pipes, appreciate your help uhc

Nope, no light coming on knock on wood. The car is louder with my down and mid pipes added but I like it. So if you like loud pipes, it's likely for you too :) Great cold starts!

Rather than welding, consider V band flanges. Perfect seal and easily disassembled and reassembled.

I was considering this move as well but just decided to order the JUN BI mid pipes. I'll approach downpipe situation when I grow bored with this configuration.

I also installed these but with the MBRP exhaust

How much $ was the install?

How much $ was the install?
$600 but paid a little extra on top bc the clamps of it all gave the installer grief adding more install time. Same day service luckily though.

I've heard stories about CELs, overboosting, no longer passing emissions, and now bolts snapping. Sounds like a great upgrade performance-wise, but also sounds incredibly risky and like a HUGE pain to install yourself, which is what I would do. Can anyone comment on self installing these or any issues with the above-mentioned concerns? I'm hoping someone with these installed can give me some personal experience insight.

Quick pivot/update: today I finally had a muffler shop that came highly recommended redo my pipe setup a little and replace the clamps with better ones; will give further review of their work after driving more but so far seems way more secure (don’t hear nor feel pipe rattling etc). Also supposedly they reduced turbo leak to almost nothing (they admitted they had do some cutting and refitting which is fine with me - in general they build custom pipes for exotic cars so for them it wasn’t a big deal it seems). Anyways, wish I could give insight on DIY process so I’ll defer to the group here.

I ordered the primary downpipe secondary downpipe high flow cat combo looking for someone to install, can anybody recommend an installer in the Kansas City area? Should I look for a muffler shop or a performance speed shop to do the work any advice is appreciated
