Apparently they upgraded the 2.0L to 2.5L and kept the 3.3tt but the hp increases to 373 which is disappointing, just 3 more hp. These upgrades were achieved by the variable exhaust. Note though, this’s for the SK market. Full article here from thekoreancarblog

Not surprised and completely understandable as they are going to be using that 2.5 in other vehicles. Still waiting to see if the US will get the variable exhaust...

I really don't understand people asking for more powa out of the current V6 T Stinger its powerful enough, ho much do you want for a street car (non super car). For me the V6 is more than enough power.

Because it's still slow when you compare it to cars like the c43, S5, or m340. Like don't get me wrong the value of the stinger for a car at 9/10 is amazing but what's wrong with asking more. Imagine getting 10/10 car for like 40% cheaper. I don't understand why you wouldn't want more power.

I want more power.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

I agree, something like 390-420hp should drive sales up a bit more.

With this car's fat ass, it needs more power. BMW 340i has similar power and weighs 600 lb less. Note that BMW rated HP is usually what is made at the wheels (10-12% conservative). M340i has even more... It never scares me, which isn't true of lots of similar cars.

Who drag races his or hers Sports grand Turismo? Why you need 500HP for a comfortable grand turismo?

A grand tourer is supposed to be a highway cruiser that’s fast and comfortable. The traditional GT cars are cars like the DB9 and the ferrari 812. If you were looking for comfort honestly I think you got the wrong car. The stinger is comfortable if you’re looking for a sporty car but you could’ve gotten something else that’s even more comfortable.

I just want my loud pedal to be able to scare me. LOL. You don't need a supercar for that.

I'm excited about the 2.5T, which should be a huge improvement over the 2.0T. I hope the 2.5T version also gets a full suite of safety tech that isn't available on the current 2.0T. If that happens and the price is right, I'll probably want one. Not sure I'll be able to get it through the Household Disbursements Committee, but I'll try! (The Committee would probably love the huge screen with NAV and the automatic transmission, so there's some hope.)

Yall need to buy a super car! :p

Well, we can't all afford multiple cars.. Plus, we don't have the room to keep a 4th car. Sure, I could have gotten a Vette - but then I'd drive it like once a month and take the kids to school (well, back when I bought it last year) in the minivan. I'd rather drive the Stinger daily, and then have as much fun as I can doing non-daily things, rather than buying a car for 500 miles/year and driving a minivan..

Nothing wrong with wanting more power but it’s definitely gonna come at a price cost. I honestly just want too see what they got in store for the refresh. They should have had the variable exhaust from the get go tbh and the fake hood vents hopefully gone. Interior changes would be nice too considering kias other cars are catching up or are head by a smidge the halo car should have it better except for the k9 maybe. Hopefully more fuel efficient out of the 2.5 that’s what stopped me from going 2.0 cause it wasn’t that much more fuel efficient than the 3.3 plus it’s more fun to drive lol

More power sells.

There are many Supra owners peeved that the Supra got a bump in power a year after it launched (in addition to improvements in handling).

Due to the increased power (and efficiency), the 2.5T should sell better than the 2.0T.

The Stinger (and G70) should eventually be getting the 3.5TT, but the higher out put one (420 hp).

It's pretty well documented that if the Stinger even exists following the 2021-?refresh that it will ditch a petrol engine entirely and become an EV to compete with cars like the Tesla model S. I'm pretty sure you wont see the 3.5tt find it's way into the Stinger in the future.

I say this sounds like challenge for those who still have stock GT cars to take on the m340, c3 and s5 in the real world, not test reviews and numbers on paper. My guess is the Stinger will hang with those three with very little problems... just a guess though and I have never driven any of them. Full disclosure, all 3 of their badges are kinda of a turn off for me anyways... for various reasons. Love that our car put those on notice.. Not hating on those preferring cars that tout their excellence, lol, I just prefer my Hyundai parented KIA.

I tried the S5 and the m340i while shopping around and they’re definitely faster than the stinger. The s5 felt alot closer but the stinger isn’t even close to an m340i, the b58 is amazing both stock and tuned. If the stinger were to get the 3.5TT I think it would match the m340’s performance and it would be an even better value.

Don’t get me wrong, I obviously ended up with the stinger and I love the car but it’s still not to the level of those cars in terms of performance. Now when you factor in pricing though, the stinger becomes a no brainer especially in canada... $50K cad for a gt limited out the door? That’s unbeatable.

Plus you get the attention from the stinger which I argue no car under 100k gets more attention than this car. Friend has an E63 and gets no looks compared to my stinger.
