What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

I'll admit
Ah sorry, I meant this stuff which *apparently* is ok to use on a "dirty" car: https://www.amazon.com/Meguiars-G36...=8-3&keywords=meguiars+waterless+wash+and+wax

Stupid? Complete BS? I have no idea.
I'm a purist when it comes to paint care , any time you touch a car you have the chance to scratch it or add swirls . In this case far better to take it to a "touchless" wash before you try this stuff . Its a chemical and water pressure system that will get most of the dirt off . In winter these places work really well for keeping your car looking good . IMHO ......... proper hand washing is best , but I realize its time consuming and not everyone likes doing it ................check out autogeeks.com for all sorts of paint care info !! Good luck

Thanks! I looked into "touchless" washes near me and not much turned up. Will keep researching.

................and definitely not an automated one with the spinning brushes and mops that can really muck up your paint ( I'm going to get flamed by guys that use these but they do caused serious swirls and micro scratches ) again , I'm a purist so take that into consideration when you decide how to care for your car ( I dont even let the dealers wash my cars )

Yeah, understandable for sure. Seems like options are limited when it comes to getting the car cleaned responsibly, short of doing it yourself. Found a steam wash near me with great reviews but doubt that'll get winter grime off the car properly. If I had a black Stinger like my old car I'd be more worried about swirl marks but the blue should be a bit more forgiving. Either way, I'm going to put in a little more effort with the Stinger to use detailing stuff like Meguiars, etc.

Those "Full Service Service" washes put some heavy scratches on one of our cars. Someone must have previously went through with debris or something on their car. I now only hand wash. Of course I live in South Florida where winter is 1 week a year.

I've had that happen as well - to a BMW 750Li. :o I used to wash that car (and all my others before it) at one of those automatic car washes with the towels or whatever. The day I was trading in my 7-Series - it happened. Scratches all over the place. Luckily I didn't lose anything on the trade-in value. Maybe they didn't notice it - until it was too late. I don't know. It wasn't terrible - but it was noticeable. The scratches probably came out with a good detailing. But I've only used touch-less since then...

NOOOOOO ! the detailing spray is for AFTER you wash , if you use it to clean you'll just grind the dirt into the car . Better to leave it dirty or give a good spray down ..............:)
Westcoast is right NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

How do you like using a dashcam? I would think about getting one since I commute into NYC everyday for work but I'd hate to have an unsightly cord snaked across the dash.
I have the HDMirrorCam, which mounts over the rearview mirror. It's pretty unobtrusive. The wire just runs straight down to the power outlet. I seem to encounter enough stupid drivers on the road, so it gives me some peace of mind that I might be able to document someone else being at fault in an accident. Where in NJ are you? I'm in Hunterdon.

Good to know, maybe I'll look into that one. As you said, there's plenty of awful drivers out there. I'm in Wayne, north of you.

Yesterday I drove my Stinger in the snow...so today I plan to give her a good wipedown with this Meguiars detailing spray I got. Maybe tomorrow will be the first car wash. I know I know, swirl marks...though they shouldn't show up too badly on micro blue. Plus, what choice do I have to keep the car clean during a NJ winter??

I use Chemical Guys Waterless car wash and works well with clean MF cloths. Used this (and other waterless car washes) for years during winter and so long as you perform a single wipe on one side of the cloth, it's fine. However, to avoid risk of scratches on heavily soiled surfaces, I spray the car down with a pump sprayer with hot water mixed with a small amount of car soap to wash off the sandy dirt we get in winter!Untitled.webp

Very easy its just 3m black hard tack lettercut vinyl.
I thought i place it there, cos on the steering wheel badge it looks stupid.
The name stinger is only about 50mm in width and can be just barely seen.
So I took it off and placed it there as you see it.
The letter cut is easy if you have a vinyl print and cutmachine.

I'll have to research the machine you're referencing , the size and placement is ideal , well done !
